The alleged attack was also witnessed by two other unidentified team members, one of whom gave a recorded statement to police.
nvm....might not have been divens....nevertheless whatever teammate ratted this out to outside authorities without letting the team handle it in-house is a fool

this no name scrub divens should've kept this in house
article writer needs to get his facts straight....bowman was the one who knocked down the pass to clinch the NFCCG...may have confused brooks' tackle on the Atlanta fullback on the same last drive that prevented a likely TD
no, brooks had a huge batdown to

'Police took a report but did not make any arrests. According to the court documents, a San Jose police sergeant called Divens three days after the incident asking if he still wanted to press charges.
Divens said he and Brooks were in touch and nearing a resolution. Two days later, Divens phoned the officer and told him he wanted to "drop it."
"He said this would be bad for both of their careers and that he just wanted to keep playing and that they had resolved it," according to the documents.'
Looks like Divens (a player who will never make an NFL squad) is going to get a pretty penny from Brooks; off the record of course.

Brooks and Bowman both had two equally huge bat downs. It's just that everyone remembers the last one.

Memory is coming back to me, and upon closer reading the writer did say it was a 3RD DOWN play (to the falcons FB along the sidline i think) that brooks made a key stop (bowman's was n 4th down) so yeah the writer didn't gaffe...just looks that way on first read since everyone remembers bowman's batdown

Rookie hazing! LOL. If true, glad they worked it out...stay away from the alcohol Brooks (man-up!) and save that mean streak for the field only.
PS: I had Divens as one of my (really) dark horses for potentially making the team. Now I'm sure he'll make the team. His duty will be to take Brooks keys before each game and tell him the opposing QB took them!

The lesson in all this is teammates, especially the ones not directly involved in the middle of a drunken argument, need to cool their horses regarding calling the 5-0....let the two men get it out of their system and sleep it off before resorting to the cops cos once that happens, it's outta the players' and team's hands....brooks and divens probably woke up the next morning and knew they both acted fools and were ready to patch it up for the good of the team and keeping it hushed, but of course someone else (probably under the influence as well and NOT thinking ahead, especially with a star D starter involved) took it out of brooks' and divens' hands, so now there's all this a few weeks before TC, which of course will be blown way out and is not needed...

I love me some AB, but dude better get that aggression checked or he can hit the bricks. Don't need guys who are gonna put the team in jeopardy with themselves missing cause they are sitting in the pen, or hurting a teammate as that report states.

You are right, only gentlemen threaten to go get their gun over a key dispute. And he has such a stellar track record off the field.
