It was a football decision.. and it was the right decision!!! You don't replace 42 sacks in 43 games.

Philly - you can do what you want with DeSean but Aldon's staying right in the Bay!

I wouldn't say he got paid.

In reality, they'd be rewarding him if they DIDN'T pick up the option.

If he stays out of trouble, he'd likely make AT LEAST 12-13 mill on a franchise tag or even more as a part of a huge new deal. That's why I never thought they wouldn't exercise the option. Its in place to protect the team, not the player.
