A lot of people in America would be fine under the rule of a King it would seem. It's a lot easier to let a King or Dictator decide than have to think on their own or figure out what is right or wrong.

You have one ruler in the NFL that can take away many millions of $$$ and another person's livelihood on a whim. Even the CA state court system with at least some semblance of due process has not punished Aldom Smith much at all, yet one person in an organization without due process can take away millions from players. It's good to be a $44 million a year King .... just kiss the feet. What does this tell you about all these people that support this suspension or the power of one person? Just let the King decide.

Worse yet the only reason Goodell makes $44 million a year is that he helps the owners screw the players without the players even having a clue. The rookie salary cap was the worse thing for all NFL players that could have ever been imagined. The average career in the NFL is less than 3 - 6 years...The NFL is violent, brutal...careers are short and lifespans are shortened..... it takes a certain mentality to even survive... and the NFL imposed a rookie salary cap for 4 - 5 yrs? Now all a team has to do is keep drafting young players to lock them in for 4 - 5yrs and cut them for younger rookies later on..now talented veterans are a waste of money..... we're on our way to modern day slavery...

..but let's just let the King decide....it's easier that way.... and heck let's just hope he he becomes president of the US so we all don't have to think or do anything anymore... he'll just take from others, tell us what to do and give us bread and football..

That's a little outrageous. No one is forced to play professional football or live under Goodell's rule.

Its so disappointing at his young age he hadn't realized the potential he truly has/had.
Even though Goodell gave 2 f**ks about Aldon taking time during the season for 5 games getting help I still think this is a great thing both we and he did and that this ordeal will serve to benefit both us and Aldon in the short and long term. The sad thing is that this was an opportunity for the NFL to show and demonstrate that what we did should be encouraged and is a model that other clubs should follow but instead teams will just have their star players to continue to delay delay delay legal proceedings in order to maximize playing time on the field, help their team win games and championships and then get charges lessened to where everything is swept under the rug during the following offseason. This does nothing to help players but it helps teams. The proper behavior is what we've exhibited in handling this whereas other teams are encouraged to do things the old way whether or not it is destructive to the player or society at large. I am proud of how we handled this initially and right now. Quest for 6!

The NFLPA released this statement:

"On Aldon's behalf, the NFLPA worked with the NFL to craft disciplinary terms that reflect Aldon's desire to take responsibility for past mistakes and show his commitment to being a dedicated professional by going to work every day to study with his coaches and teammates and train at the facility. The terms of the discipline reflect his desire to show his teammates, employer and fans that he has made real changes to his life since the difficult incidents that are the basis for the NFL's discipline."

All nonviolent offenses. You left out Aldon got help while missing 5 games for his alcoholism. Did Lynch? We don't care anymore. Aldon will do his time he got help and hopefully this is better for him long-term. We've done everything to help him. Different teams do things differently
raymac effected the aldon decision I bet. we are the new bengals. we are going to be the whipping boys for rog to show how strong he is. this is going to be bad for us.
