I think we need to shut him down for the season, give him a chance to clean his life up and restart his career next season. On the bright side this will give us major leverage when/if we look to extend his contract.

i agree with all of your post cept for the choosing of watt . we made a good choice and unless something blows up and he never comes back to us, nothing he has done off the field has made me change my mind that drafting him was the right thing to do at the time

Smith got more sacks in his first two years than any player in history. He had no problems in college. Anybody can be a complete draft wizard if they're prognosticating on a draft that happened a few years ago. Lame.

only one or two said that bud i do not think we need to be put on the defensive and start trying to justify the drafting of smith because one or two people are playing monday morning quarterback three years later
dude was on pace for getting himself a $20+million a year contract

now its on pause
roman is retarded

Well, maybe the one positive out of all this, is perhaps, that the team will be able to resign Crabtree. I don't think Smith will be breaking the bank with a new contract anytime soon, so there is a better chance keeping Crabs.

Still though, should have picked Watt...

Damn you Baalke!

I had a feeling people might be tripping on this. The 49ers have said ALL ALONG they didn't know when he would be back. If he didn't do well in rehab, they would not bring him back tho. They aren't going to be public about when they THINK he'll be back.

Here's reality tho....28 days is the usual rehab time. That would get him out next Monday. The 49ers will be on their way to London at that time. He'll stay home and rejoin the team when they return and possibly play the week after the bye. That would give him a good 3 weeks post rehab to get himself ready to play again.

That's my prediction.

So we see this idiot in 6 1/2 years if ever? We should have picked JJ Watt. Maybe even a better player and 0% of the trouble.

I really hope this is a joke.

If not its almost Darwin award worthy.

not sure if it's a joke, but it's not gonna happen that way.
flash in the pan...what a waste
Our pass rush DESPERATELY needs Aldon back this season if we want to win it all. 30 days of rehab should be enough for a 23 yr old and coming back to be with the team would benefit his recovery.

he'll be back after the bye i think. cant wait to see him rejoin this team. whats done is done, by the time the legal process takes its course it will be maybe a year down the line. he will play for us again this year
We need this guy back now!

I think we'll be fine until he can return clean, we've won 3 straight without him, two of which were without him and Willis. Our backups and rookies I would say are carrying the load rather well wouldn't you agree?

I just want him back in time for the Saints game. It's key if we can pressure Brees with just 4 guys like last year, and drop the rest in coverage.

true but having the best pass rusher in the league back would help a little. we only had one sack today
