Originally posted by Afrikan:blah, Goldson tackled two niners in the Giants game who probably would have had interceptions. Might have never had to go to overtime if it wasn't for those. But he did have a great interception in the Saints game. Unless he agrees to some humility with the monitary negotiations he probably won't be with the niners after this seasaon.
most 9er fans around here sure love to undervalue Dashon Goldson's importance to this team.....as if he is easily replaceable.
yes he was one of our MVPs last year.....in fact you can easily point to how our defense played when he wasn't one the field, compared to how they played when he was on the field.
Not saying Goldson is a better "player" than Justin Smith....or he is more important...but i will say that losing Goldson for a few games would impact our defense more, than losing Smith for a few games.
also just because a guy is shorter than someone, yet weighs similar..doesn't mean he would be automatically stronger. Dashon looks/plays much bigger than his 200lbs listing. Where as Spilllman looks skinnier on the field.

his play is complemented by our front seven. if someone overpays him, they will b sorry. i just know that it won't b us. we have developed him into a good player, but he isn't all of a sudden ed reed or palomalu

Love the sarcasm with the Spiller. But yes we are, because Goldson doesn't seem to trust the winning formula and front office that resigned all of its top players while yet he had to be franchised because he has his head up your ass. Plus there are 70 some odd days till training camp, and Barrows mentioned Spillman. What else is there to talk about?

no sarcasm... typo lol, just got done texting my buddy who's last name is spiller.
2nd of all... Spillman cant even hold Goldson's jock strap. Goldson is a pretty damn good player, he wants to get paid like one. His career will be over in about 8 years, he wants a secure future like the rest of us. If he signs he signs if he doesnt then oh well. but lets not pretend that spillman, a special teamer is actually a viable replacement.

to blame Goldson for the lost in that championship game.....to even blame him for the dropped picks because as a Free Satefy who was one of tops in the league in Picks on a Team that relies on turnovers to win games....for you to blame him for trying to get a turnover in NFC Championship shows how dumb you three are. Its not about having an opinion, it is just dumb.
you might try to consider that as a personal attack, but honestly your logic regarding the issue is what is a personal attack on our intelligence.
