LaMichael James is a superstar returner, Perrish Cox can return, and AJ Jenkins is capable as well. With that being the case, why should Ginn make the ream? He's a pure special teams player at this point, while the others can play offense.
Ly own prediction is that Ginn is cut AMD LaMichael James is the 6th WR/4th RB. James, Williams, and Jenkins all fight for playing time, with Jenkins and Williams alternating as an active top 46 player. This is all assuming Moss makes the team.

With the addition of LMJ, will Ted Ginn get cut?

No. Ginn is one of the best returners in the NFL.
The others are not even close to his caliber. Maybe someday.

A posited this a little earlier in another thread. I don't think so, but it's a possibility if they're having trouble getting to the final roster.

I think it'll depend on whether Harbaugh has confidence in James' ball-handling skills -- he has a propensity to fumble.

Kiper mentioned that James' return abilities were "good, not great".

We have a top 3 return man in the game. Returns are more important to this team than 90% of the teams in the league. We saw how well that philosophy worked of "anybody can be your return guy." Didn't work out to well in the NFC Championship. No not anybody can do it. And if you have somebody who is elite at it you KEEP HIM! Especially for this team. We don't have Brees and almost 5,500 yards.

He had 20 combined punt and kickoff returns in his career, with 1 touchdown, how exactly is he a superstar returner?
Tedd Ginn is one of the best returnmen in the NFL, and we brought him back for a reason.

Should have said 'ability to be a superstar returner'
But Ginn doesn't play any other positions

Ginn can play receiver just fine in the backup role we intend for him. Look at the majority of other backups around the NFL and tell me you'd rather have them as both a backup/returner.

I actually vote NO to both of your options.

This. No idea why some posters are so keen to see the back of Ginn.

Only player I may prefer over him is Joe Adam, simply for the versatility

you took the words right outta my mouth.Ginn is a superstar returner.with the guys we picked up and the contract we gave Ginn,I would not have a problem if ALL Ginn did was play Spec.Teams.That translates into ball security and a home run threat at that position.and if he gets hurt,we dont have to rely on Williams to fill in.theres other capable guys to fill in now.
L.James bein drafted does not affect Moss or Williams,Dixons days might be numbered instead though.

Yup that's it. The backup return ability is much improved. And boy did we need that.....
