I don't care for LMJ, but people make too much of a deal over this sort of stuff. This is a voluntary offseason program. It shouldn't even be a story, but every year the media makes a big deal about some of the players who don't show up. It's not like they're watching film and implementing plays or something either; they're just exercising.

And as far as LMJ is concerned, coaches probably would have trusted him a little more if he didn't make every punt catch a hold-your-breath moment, learned to block a linebacker or two and didn't fumble while driving for the go-ahead score in a Super Bowl. Good luck to LMJ.
Too Late. I've been on the Chip Kelly bandwagon since his first year at Oregon and the guy can flat out coach. But you are right about one thing..we will see how he does in his second year. Tough to watch because I despise the Eagles.

Doubt that there is a big Shady McCoy shaped wall in his way in Philly.

What could the Niners potentially get for James?? A 7th round draft pick??

Taking a hard line because of a character difference might work in college where you've got a hundred guys standing around waiting to play, but I think letting DeSaun Jackson go is not a pro move. And NFL defenses have a way of figuring out fresh new college offensive systems over the off season. We'll see. I predict a drop off.

And McCoy can actually run between tackles without a sneeze taking him down. Not to mention, Darren Sproles is there now. Don't see him getting much playing time over either of those guys. That doesn't include Bryce Brown, who the Eagles may eventually trade.

So what could we realistically get if we trade L. James?
