Identity Crisis in the works?

The only "identity" I want this team to have is the one that can do what ever it takes to win a game. I want the word winners to be the teams identity. Pass first, run first should only be determined by the strength of the opposing Ds strengths and weaknesses.

What we need is balance. If we can have a better passing game then our whole offense will be better. We picked up two recievers with speed that know what they are doing but we also picked up Brandon Jacobs which gives us more options on short yardage.
Since we don't have to learn a new offense again.....THANK GOD.......our O should be improved and we will also take more shots down the field.
Delanie was a huge part of the offense last year even though he didn't show up always in the stat line. We need more depth on O. And the draft will help us everywhere.
NO Identity Crisis.

good lord. we have no crisis at all, identity or otherwise. the whole point is to improve the offense, we have done that with the addition of two good wide outs, a good third down back and the deletion of chilo. fleener, or hill or mcnutt or whoever will only make us better. I am not making fun of the poster but good lord

So if we get Fleener, a player that was in JH system at Stanford and was very good in that system...the SF team would have an identity crisis? Even if we get a 4.3 forty WR also similar to one JH had at Stanford....
I'll stop...my point is clear.

Every year the Cardinals improved dramatically under Harbaugh. Expect the very same for the 49ers this year..

This league is a passing league, but the reason we're so successful is because we can RUN the ball and are a physical team. Teams aren't geared to stop the running game as well as they used to. If we draft Fleener, especially, we still maintain a two tight-end set and can both run and pass out of that formation.
Meanwhile, if we draft a wide receiver, I don't see that guy displacing Moss, Manningham, or Crabtree this year (unless there's an injury). He's meant to be a project player that would replace Moss next season.
We're not going to have an identity crisis. It's not like the early 2000s when half the offense wanted to run the ball with Garrison Hearst and Charlie Garner while the other half wanted to throw it to Terrell Owens.
We're going to be a run-first team that throws the ball to 2 TEs, a possession WR, uses its runningbacks to block, and has a deep threat WR off the Play-Action.
Well said!

I never stated that we will have an identity crisis I was just saying that it's something to watch for because nothing should be able to stop this team except itself.

Just because we are looking to improve our passing game by drafting a WR or TE doesn't mean we are making a 180 degree change in our offensive philosophy.
And just because we have a bunch of RBs on the roster, doesn't mean that we will need to run the ball more.
