after least season I am not over reacting. This team clearly has a plan and it seems to be long term and makes sense.

I'm suprised a lot, worried a little. The fact is, no matter how good Baalke and Co are at their job, they can't make guys sign. All the guys you just listed were part of an incredible season, they probably want to try and cash in. That's why its so hard to keep great teams together in this era. Witht that said, Rodgers and Alex would be the only guys that would be difficult to replace if they left. Ginn, Morgan and even Synder are kind of, meh. I'll feel a littler better if they can lock up Goldson.
of all those guys, Ginn is probably the one you could make the best argument for being elite at his position. I don't think he'll be easy to replace at all.
I'm a little worried that we haven't signed Costanzo, to be honest. He seems like a guy who should be easy to sign and who the staff would want around. The thing that makes me mad about missing our chance last year is that, not only are we going to lose some high-end players, like Rogers, but we may also lose guys like Costanzo who made the personality of last years team so special.

Can you imagine starting the year and going 16 games with Chilo Rachal and Kyle Williams returning? Think you can win 13 games and get to the NFC Championship with that?....
I don't view Snyder and Ginn as maybe guys. I view them as must have components to a very good team. Rogers I just think we will lose because he will want like $10 million a year and we will offer him $6 - $7 million a year. That's a very deep discount.
Alex is not going anwhere. We could offer him anything between $6 - $10 million per year. $6 - $7 million yeah he will be mad. But where can he go? To another new HC, OC, system, new players, new team. I just don't see it. And I don't see him being pursued heavily by other teams. I think we can offer him whatever we want. Obviously it will be more than the $5 million we paid this year.
Rachal is a FA. He is probably not going to resign with the 49ers because the 49ers don't want him.

RG Chilo Rachal: He lost his starting job with a rough first half in the 49ers' third game of the season. His return appears unlikely.Read more: Complete list of 49ers free agents Tune to SportsNet Central at 6, 10:30 and midnight on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area for more on this story
I agree that a RG is important, but its not like Synder is THAT good to begin with. I'm sure they will attempt to resign him and if they don't, they will replace him (like they did David Baas last year) or start Kilgore.
I would like to see Ginn back as well, but he's not the only player who can return kicks and my hope is if they don't resign him, that they replace him and don't just simply go with Kyle Williams. A guy like Eddie Royal could come cheaper and be a solid KR/PR.
Much like last year, we probably shouldn't worry too much until we see everything and how it plays out.

Baalke is on another level than Niner Talk. I have faith in his decisions.

The only one Im really even remotely worried about is Rogers but I still think he comes back. I would like to also have Ginn back, the rest of the dudes can kick rocks.

losing snyder and ginn does not tank our team,, for gods sake san diego, that is shrill, even for you. you really do lack faith in this team and front office i think. I am not yelling at you but come on

I honestly don't understand why every player / agent doesn't at least test the open market before signing a contract.
This,
To put it in perspective there were allot more "key players" testing last years FA market and the Niners executed their plan flawlessly. Now it is even more a buyers market, so players will have a harder time getting deals unless they are considered the best at their position. IMO I think Baalke lets most of them test the market because aside from Rogers they arent worth the price they will initially be wanting.
For Rogers, if he turns down our offer Baalke probably has a contingency plane like Porter to get younger at that position. Ginn, Morgan, Snyder... IMO Ginn will be the first to come right back to the niners and sign. The entire league knew we were hurting at the WR position and Ginn did very little to help outside of special teams. My question is does Baalke want him back, possibly instead signing someone like Royal who can at least contribute as a #3 on offense.

This x10. Team has shown they know exactly what they're doing.
We'll be fine and ready to take the throne in 2012.

Same as last season. Some guys leave, some guys stay. This message board freaks out when we dont over pay for some of our own guys and call for Baalke's head. Baalke finds replacements and upgrades at each spot and does so economically. We have another strong season.
