walker is one of the best #2 TE in nfl
keep him no need to trade him
if we get fleener just run with the 3 TE set and well have 3 pass catching TE
but thats what i dont get we still lack a #1 WR yet we want to get a #2 TE instead

We would have the best TE threesome in the NFL and you want to dissolve that for a mere 4th or 5th... um, K.

Walker is our swiss army knife on offense, and you guys want to trade him away for a 4th or 5th? Come on...

Who says we even need
any WRs? Lets go Fleener in the 1st, Orson Charles in the 2nd, Ladarius Green in the 3rd, and Michael Egnew in the 4th. 5 TE sets FTW!!!

Im sure St.Louis would love to add D-Love or even Arizona... I wouldnt say the most UNDERRATED, but he is defintely versitile and valuable to have.. Not only a ST player, but is a mismatch as a TE and can even play well as a receiver.. Keep both Vernon and DLove and add Fleener... 3 tight ends that are athletic and can all play receiver as well as hold it down in the trenches

Read the OP, it is hypothetical, and you would save 1.9 million and you are getting another player via the draft pick. This is hypothetically assuming D love will not be a niner in 2013 because you have VD and Fleener on the roster, and D love would want a big pay day that would not happen.
We are getting mixed messages. It seems like the majority of people think D love has zero trade value, if this is the case, he is not the best 2nd TE in the NFL.

You don't trade Delanie.
If we draft Fleener at #30, it is because we got a good WR (Meachem, Garcon, etc) as FA and somebody jaw dropping isn't there.
VD came on at the end of the year and was THE monster in the playoffs. By his own admission, he didn't really get the offense until the end.
Walker was so clutch all year, as a "wham" blocker, special teams demon, and TE. That catch against DET was epic.
Fleener knows the offense. To draft him would take what the Pats did (Aaron / Gronk) and take it up a notch. Each brings something different. Fleener would be the big (6'6") redzone target. Vernon with his jump seam route.
Dare I say it but we'd be the first team to have a Slot TE (D-Love) instead of a Slot Wr. Since Delanie was a WR, it is not too much of a stretch.
I say do it.

I still think Delanie could line up as a WR some times.
Crabs
Walker
Williams
Meachem

Fleener
VD

3 and 4 TE's may work in college, but I'm not sure about the NFL. The Patriots do use multiple tight ends but they also have welker to balance out there approach, since brings that element of speed and shiftiness. Too many TE's would make the offense pretty slow and lumbering. VD may have straight line speed, but he can't cut or shift as quick as a receiver. I can't think of any TE's who can.

That is what I've been thinking ever since Harbaugh joined. I know he was big into TEs and ours are extremely talented. Go 3 TE, all capable receivers, with Gore in the backfield. What are we gonna do? The D either goes big and gets burnt by the TEs or stay base and get steamrolled. The possibilities are endless. I'm excited for next year.
