So? Brooks has never played this good in his career either and it could be a fluke season for him a well. How u gonna say something about Rogers when the EXACT same thing applies to Brooks as well? At least Rogers' career year was still way better than Brooks' career year...and Rogers before 2011 was WAAAAAY better than Brooks before 2011. He's ALWAYS been a real nice cover corner, he just gained more attention this year because he was on a great team and he held on to the int's. So therefore the whole fluke factor is way more likely for Brooks who had done VERY little prior to 2011 (was never even a starter), so not sure why YOU would bring that up...

Not even close, brorchaco, but its pretty obvious you dont know what you are talking about so Ill leave it at that, good day sir

Folks, the chronological order of our re-signings is not an accurate measure of their importance.

CJ Spillman was not a higher priority than Brooks, Rogers, Smith, etc.

These are just the deals they were able to negotiate easiest.

Prove it

I don't want to.

That better be a chinese finger trap in your pocket...
How the f**k did this turn into Brooks vs Rogers?

THIS IS NINER TALK GOD DAMN IT! THAT'S HOW!
Typical overreaction with the "we overpaid" nonsense. Brooks isn't likely to see even half of that, so calm down. The deal includes $17.5 mil guaranteed, which is about right for his age/performance. Settle down.

Brooks said his 2011 season proved wrong previous coaches who said he couldn't learn an NFL system. Wouldn't say which coaches said that.

New leaf: Brooks typically spent offseasons in Va. where conditioning wasn't No. 1 priority. Is in Santa Clara this year; worked out today.

overreact when Baalke took his time in FA and we hired the wrong guy lol

Not as crazy as it sounds...only 17.5 mill guaranteed

What do you mean "only"? We're paying him almost as handsomely as Pit is paying Harrison and Woodley. Again, Baalke's earned my trust, still definitely raising an eyebrow or 2...or 3. I just don't get why we didn't let him hit the open market to see what other teams would offer him...no way another team would have offered him MORE than that and if another team did happen to even come close (still doubtful), we could have just offered him this same contract at THAT point...and if no other team offered him a contract more than 65 or so % of what we offeres him, we coulda saved some serious chedda.

you're acting like its easy to find 3-4 OLBs

we hit and miss for about 5 years until we finally found a couple
It took us so long to find these guys you dont just let them walk away after. Hes definitely worth the money

and 17.5 guaranteed over 5 or 6 years isnt a lot

How is it not even close? Brooks HAS had great years before 2011??? Really? Which ones??? Do tell. Rogers' 2011>Brooks' 2011...Rogers' career before 2011>Brooks' career before 2011...that's not even debatable...
