Lets not forget the 49ers were 3.5 point favorites and had 9 Pro Bowlers so its not like we were the '85 Patriots going against the '85 Bears and won.

In that Super Bowl, Niners went with extra DBs on the field against Marino. Frustrated him all day. Hope they do so against Brees.

we'll stop their run but lets not pretend that its a weakness or something they don't want to do.
The Saints can run and will run, but I don't think their game plan is to win the game by running the ball. I'd expect them to come out aggressive on both sides of the ball, wanting to get up on us early, not only because it's their style, but also they probably want to force us into a game where we have to pass. I do agree that it is foolish to go with a 4-1-6 because it takes some of our best players off of the field. We will probably give up a deep pass play or 2 and get gashed on a running play, but overall, I see us slowing down that offense. Our D-line is that good, our LBs are too fast, we cause turnovers, and will not give New Orleans a short field. The only real question is can our offense take advantage of their defense? I'm expecting lots of blitzing, so opportunities will be there to take advantage of their aggressiveness.

I almost believed the Marino corps hype that Super Bowl, hopefully this game ends like that one
