Hey don't forget that Montana threw 12 picks in 81.

Especially if those numbers are accurate.
If the #'s are truly accurate it's worth discussion.
I don't debate that it's worth discussion. But it will turn ugly is all I'm saying.

Just checked them...they are.
Also, Montana was 25/26-ish in '81. Alex is 27 years old.
What would be a joke is to compare Montana's career with Smith. But Joe Montana version 1981 is comparable to 2012 Smith, maybe not the intangibles and what ended up making Montana the QB he would become....but stat's wise, yep.

The key at this point of course is matching the playoff record.

Who cares what year it is for Smith? Montana didn't have Nolan and Singletary trying to figure ou who to ruin his career.
In my opinion, nothing in the BH counts......Before Harbaugh.

Before Harbaugh doesn't really count. He as set up to fail. This is the first time he has an actual HC and QB developer and he is succeeding...

That's my point that the stats are very close. (not comparing careers). Plus, the system in which Harbaugh is using Alex is the same. Just saying.
