There is a tendency to wrag on new guys. Some of them turn out to be great. Hastings is determined to succeed and as a undrafted player, took a practice squad position from a 6th round pick. Both Swain and Hastings are pretty fast. May they have great success this Sunday and beyond!

FWIW . . .

I would call him "undersized and slow"
Eagles promoted WR Ronald Johnson from the practice squad.
A sixth-round rookie out of USC, Johnson was among the 49ers' final cuts. Undersized at 5-foot-11, 199 pounds, his NFL future is likely on special teams. Dec 31 - 11:56 AM

They still have not officially promoted Hastings and he has said they have not spoken to him....think they promote Konrad and this has just been another game of showmanship so that the rams do not prepare for a tall te that can catch? Does not seem likely...but this is Harbaugh we are talking about...

We need to be more concerned about Delanie"s position. Maybe they have been working Dixon into some of Walker's pass routes this week. Dixon is 6'1" and 235 and seems like he could bring some wood. He certainly has the enthusiasm to add some spark to a game where the team could show up a little flat. They were in a black n blue game last week so they are probably a little tired and beat up. Fresh bodies could help.

really? dixon at te? come on, u know they gonna go with peelle whos been a backup te for years in the league, if atlanta can have him as gonzalez's backup, and run a similar style of O as we do, why cant he be a suitable backup for vd?

Man, RoJo was one of my fave picks.
Too bad he didn't show up in preseason.

Awesome read on Hastings here: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2011/12/30/SPE71MJ608.DTL
Talks about how his dad asked him to quit football after multiple knee injuries. His parents didn't allow him to play football until Jr. High because he was so small, and how WRs at camp made fun of him because was so small and light. But his heart showed through and he gained respect of his teammates and beat out Ronald Johnson on the Practice Squad.

Hopefully he's a gamer like Jeff Garcia. There's too many instances where guys are good in practice effort, got on the field and played like they weren't there.

I remember seeing him in there for at least one snap. Think we went 3 wides and it was maybe a spread on 3rd and 8???
My stream was so so... didn't really try to look for him too much. Anyone see him on ST? I know Swain had 1 catch... someone said he had 3 targets. Either way I am sure Hastings will be back down because Williams and Ginn should be back. So Crabtree, Williams, Ginn, Swain.... maybe they bring up Reuland for Walker if he isn't ready to go? Would be one extra spot sending Hastings down I believe.

agree. he might be in play for 2012. I sign one Vet. and draft 2 WR's Bye bye Swain, kyle williams.
Ginn is a FA and so is Morgan.
My guess is we re-sign both
