Playoff Scenarios

But you have given up.

Not just a stronger team. A stronger team to me has to be able to do it in a consistent fashion. At 10-1, yes I would call that consistent. Even when they played bad, they were still able to pull out with a win. That is before I look at the scores of the past 2 meetings as well. In short, a complete domination.

You can call it given up, as far as I am concerned it is just a straight comment on which is the better team at this juncture. And the better team will take the division crown from us. I don't know what else can I say about that. The record and stats speak for themselves.

I still think we go 11-5, upset Seattle, and take the #6 in the final week against the Cards, which probably gets bumped up to a night game on SNF, and I'm gonna bet we still end up playing the Lions the following Sunday/Saturday night, which should be pretty f**king exciting.

We have the best schedule of all teams trying to get in, and thankfully we don't have to go to Seattle (which would put a huge dent into the injury tent) in December this time. Again though, it's all up to how this team responds, I don't really care how we do it, just get in, and anything can happen from there.

^^^THIS

But if we upset Seattle, who do we lose to? I say if we beat Seattle we run the table and go 12-4!!!!

I dont know how you guys are so optimistic. Regardless of whos fault it is, the way this offense is playing there is a strong possibility we dont even win another division game. It is reality that this offense is the worst in the league by a large margin.

ROFLOL. Hyperbole! This is NOT reality, unless it is the reality in your own head.... We are not even the worst offense in our own division.

It is in fact reality. Sorry if you dont want to see it.

Yeah, because our running game is putrid too.

Our running game is good, but it doesnt come close to overcoming the rest of the offense as a whole.

This year, the pattern is looking like LLWWWWW?

We'll probably end up with the same record as last year, but everybody thinks this year is a disaster, because Seattle has won a couple miracle games and are in control of the division. That fact of the matter is, we are missing a ton of pieces on offense, yet will end up with just as good of a regular season.

Thank you. I had this discussion with my brother in law today

How is it just as good of a season when we are looking at the #6 seed and a wild card? We aren't even going to win our division.

um, fellow 9er fan, we would still not win our division with Last year's record as well.....Seattle is just having one heck of a season. 1 loss? So just because they are having a rare season, that means our season can't be considered good, if we finish strong?

you standards are all over the place... you predicted that we go 2-14 or what ever that was a few years ago, yet having this many wins is not considered "good" to you?

STOP TROLLING! Grow out of it!.

What were we seeded last year? Was it the 5th seed? The thing is to get in, then who ever get's hot wins the whole thing.
To win the super bowl this year it will damn near take us winning 10 games straight OR... 9 out of 10 (dropping one more game in the reg season). And the second scenario is ONLY if some of the other teams in the hunt burn out.

we're not chasing seattle anymore, we're running along with other flawed 6-4 teams, to say we can only lose one more is to say these other barely over .500 teams arent going to lose again, i cant buy that, 10-6 will do.
I remember last season it was a pretty big deal that the Bears didn't make the playoffs with a 10-6 record. I think it might happen again. I think the Niners will be in at 11-5.

we need the Saints to win out.....let them get the #1 seed.

Even if we lost these last two games in New Orleans, I'd rather play there in perfect weather...than go to Seattle with bad weather and those fans who will still be yelling their asses off.

we could play in a dome in Detroit...then a Dome in New Orleans......that small small chance that Seattle loses to another team...and then we'd play somewhere else, with a much better chance.

either way I'm just worried about this Redskins game really...they just lost in close game, and will look to bounce back. I don't think it will be easy, but we better take care of business.

We've lost 2 close games in a row. We need to bounce back.
I just wouldn't be surprised if we go 5-0 again (yes, upsetting Seattle in the process), locking the #6 down in week 16, and taking a meaningless loss to the Cardinals in week 17.

That would be 'so' 49ers.
I don't care how the 49ers get in the playoffs. I just HOPE they get in!! Its gonna be a DOG FIGHT amongst 3 or 4 teams for the #6 seed. And once you're in, anything can happen, a twisted knee for the other teams star player, a tipped pass pick 6, a flat layoff performance etc etc. im not expecting a SB (Of COURSE I"D BE ECSTATIC) but so long as they make the playoffs and have a chance to defend their NFC crown, I"ll be slightly content.
