Put him opposite Michael Crabtree in base sets, and move him to the slot in 3 or 4 WR sets. Ginn could walk out the door and not be missed, and the 49ers would have someone just as fast, but who actually catches the ball when it hits him in the hands.
Grabbing Jackson would also correct McCloughan's mistake of passing him over in the draft. Besides, DJ is a California native, and went to Cal, so that might intrigue him to come back this way, not to mention what Harbaugh's doing with this team. The Eagles are falling now, so that seems like the perfect time for DJ to bail and come to the 49ers.

I like the idea, but do you think DeSean fits the mold of a Harbaugh player?
He's a good football player when he wants to play, but if he doesn't get his way he seems to be a pouter.....

What's great is even if all these guys who we gave one year contracts get big contracts elsewhere, it doesn't matter because more and possibly better players will be flocking to fill the ranks and get coached up and have a chance at a Super Bowl appearance.

I was thinking this earlier this season. No one wanted to be here, but now FA's will be flocking to sign. The 49ers are going to be the new Patriots, where anyone with Superbowl hopes signed there, even if they had to take a huge cut.

Forget DJackson - he is a malcontent, diva. Wait until he matures (a la Llyod now) to pick him up.
I bet we could attract a pretty good WR -- they could see themselves as the missing piece to our offense. Maybe a guy like DBowe? Is Vincent Jackson a free agent this year, he got franchise tagged for this year right?

DJax has taken the wrong approach in requesting more money. Why would the Eagles or somebody else pay a lot of money for a guy that has shown a "me first" approach to dealing with adversity? I think whoever signs him will want some guarantees and have them included in the contract.

Whether it be mistaken or not, I heard Brandon Lloyd didn't want to come here (based upon his earlier time with the 49ers) when he had the chance earlier this season. I suppose he regrets that now, assuming that report had any truth to it and he really didn't want to be here.
Desean is a punk, forget that dude! Our receivers are a solid group. What this team needs is for them to all be healthy and to have continuity with the qb and the system. The exact staff we have now can be absolutely deadly by training camp 2012.
I don't really think this team needs much in the way of FA's if anything could use some secondary help, zero depth there.

Why would the 49ers want to bring D Jackson (the quitter) to this great team? No way thats going to happen. The way he is acting with his team and QB reminds me of TO. Hes a cancer to any team the way hes acting. (He looked like a baby last night)

Reggie Wayne is going to be available who would be the VERY BEST WR we could land. Robert Mecham from NO will be available and I'd love to have Mike Wallace from the Steelers. I'd much rather have any of them than cry baby Jackson.
We need a RG bigtime! Nicks from the Saints may be available at a high price. He is young and an excellent RG. If we had him our Offense improves significantly in both run and pass.
Maybe this post should be in the FA section?

I like this except Desean Jackson is a head case and demands lots of $$ he hasn't proven he is worth yet. I think he will burn you in the open field but he is not a great receiver in the red zone because of his height. So no is my answer and yes I know my answer doesn't matter...

I like Desean Jackson as an athlete. He's fast, has the natural ability to catch the ball, can return punts. But he is being a b***h this year. Pouting, throwing fits, not trying, dropping passes. If the s**t hits the fan I wouldn't want this guy on our team and he could disconnect the locker room. I don't know. Unless someone can pull a Vernon Davis with him I wouldn't want him.

I'm not saying we should go after him, but I think we have a strong enough locker room to police one or two prima donna's like Jackson.

I bet a good FA Right Guard is aiming for the Niners next yr, cause they kno they can come to a good team and start and get to the playoffs...Or at least I hope that a good RG will come to the 9ers next year...Gooooo Niners!
The only decent G available next year is Louis Vasquez only 25 years old i think but I dont think the Chargers will let him go there best linemen are their two guards and their center.

I would take Desean Jackson, he's a diva right now but I can't really blame him, the Eagles are spiraling downwards and headed to dwell in the basement for a few years. I would want to get the hell out of there too!
