Looks that way. Must they dress him for this charade? Is this some sort of legal cover: So they can say in court someday, "Just because he did not play doesn't mean we didn't intend to play him. See, we dressed him every game. We don't owe him a penny more"

Another thing I don't get, surely you guys know. Chip keeps saying Kaep is not ready to play. Then why is he dressing for games? Makes no sense?

He is the only Qb that is active other then Gab on game days. Gab goes down Kaep is playing. injury clause and all

but you guys want to keep the conspiracy alive

I think that's been answered. He is physically fit enough to play, but he had few snaps in preseason, is way under weight, and doesn't know the offense as well as Gabbert...but he'd have to lose an arm and a leg to be as bad as Ponder.

I think they're justified here. You don't want that man accounting for 15 mil against the cap. It seems far fetched but maybe we do have plans of spending.

By him being dressed he collects an 150k each game.

I suspect he is dressed for each game more for PR and the possibility of trading than anything else. If he was not dressed there is no chance that another team would trade. Being dressed there is at least a small possibility.

That is one of the risks the team was taking. But he would only play if Gabbert got hurt and even then they could play with mostly handoffs and plays that minimize risk. He was the backup to give at least some chance of doing a trade prior to the trade deadline. Half expect them to trade him even if the health clause gets removed. Depends if York thinks that the fans would lynch him or not.

Look at how fast they went to the needs to renegotiate injury clause to start comments. If that wasn't a major part of why he was not playing then why oh why is that a must get completed before he starts priority now.

idk why people would call him the scapegoat ?

Jed ain't taking the blame

He didn't draft the players...

He kept Baalke over Harbaugh.

I truly do believe Jed wants to win but I also think he wants to do it with the easier guy (case in point: Jim vs. Trent).

He also hired Jim Tomsula - another "easy" decision.

Dude needs to start being a business mind. Dump the things that aren't working.. our offensive talent has never been there under Trent. We need a change. Jed needs to find his way but god damn do it fast and be a better decision maker.

Your argument holds no weight. Kap could be or have been forced to play at any given moment (since he was the backup and the only other active QB) if Gabbert gets hurt and or could even get hurt in practice.

Then why ask him to restructure now that you need him to start ?

But he told baalke to pocket salary cap money rather than spending it on players.

Jed ultimately fired a good coach, hired the wrong coach and hired the wrong GM.
