The high passes to Crabtree are absolutely ridiculous. No way is this due to bad timing the passes are simply uncatchable. I'd chalk it up to Alex misfiring plain and simple but I expect these two to being connecting more often going forward. I think many people just have a bad perception of Crabtree and its easy to blame him but Alex had accuracy issues long before Crabtree came around .. small improvement day by day from both guys and I think by years end they will be making plays consistently.

I dont buy this theory but, what i´m gonna say is this: When the ball is in the air and he is running looking at it; he losses balance and by the time the ball hits his hands he is either outta bounds or catching it in an awkward position. I´m not saying this as a critique i think those misses have been Alex´s fault solely im just saying in general however, i do think he is a good player and we are underrating how important all those missed practices have been for him, the reason we dont understand why Alex throws different at him than the others is their lack of 6th sense understanding between them, that's all, when that sense connects they will become very dangerous.

Watched Brady throw a couple of picks and numerous bad passes in a game...he must not be any good because the good QBs don't throw bad passes. What bunch of nonsense! Smith's numbers demonstrate greatly improved play and anyone who refuses to recognize this is just being silly.
When I see WRs for other teams make incredible catches it makes me sad. Edwards is the only guy who has done that consistently since training camp for the niners. His loss was terribly important and yet the 9ers kept winning. Smith is largely responsible for this. Crabtree has that potential and I look forward to Edwards and him playing together over the last half of the season. That will be interesting and fun.

Alex and Crabtree just need to practice, practice, practice and build that chemistry. Coming out of college it was Alex didn't have the best mechanics/footwork Crabtree didn't have the best route running---combine it all----the two will work it out--they both want to be very successful players and help the Niners become a great team. I think they will find the way!

Crabtree jumped on the Alex bandwagon also, and will jump off like a few people did after the detroit game (if he has another bad game)

I dont believe it.
These guys get a hundred snaps a day. There is plenty of time for them to get on the same page. They have been playing together for two years. Thats a lot of time to practice, what 15 different routes?(just throwing 15 out there sounds about right).
Nobody really knows, least of all us fans watching from the couch on sunday.
Sooooo here goes my theory, crabs is not the primary reciever on alot of the throws and when captain antsy has to throw quick he doesnt plant his feet and the ball sails on him. Good as any explanation imho.<such a dumb saying. Also crabs is slow as f**k, thats why those deep routes just aint workin'

I have always thought of Crabtree as an over the middle ,posession type of receiver. Once he masters the slants, quick outs and short first down routes that really allow his strengths of field awareness ,ball security , and the ability to create a little separation with some shifty footwork( that may slow him on long routes) I would really like to see VERNON getting the ball on deep routes.

lets just simplify this..
1. Crabtree is at his best in short/intermediate routes. screens, slants, drags, and time to time a go route or double move. Needs 8-10 targets.
2. Edwards is at his best when hes 1 on 1. He the type that you just throw it near him and high, he will go get it. More explosive player. Braylon can get 5 catches a game and if not get 100yds, come close.
3. Davis is an all around receiver. He is good in space, and has the speed to beat the defender on a go or seam route. Vernon is too talented and should be getting atleast 5 touches a game, i dont like these, 1-2 catch games.
sooner or later, we are gonna have to throw the ball 30+ times and between these guys, they need atleast 20 targets when we do
