Right now we're just a cool story.
Yep.
For us I think there's also good reason to see a long term thing starting here. But for some with less knowledge, I can see how the a precedent in recent years for teams who come from horrible seasons to good ones while never really hitting it in the playoffs or even systaining the following year may cause doubt; dolphins a couple years ago, broncos (they were 6-0 last year or the year before that) and the titans are a few teams who have found patches of greatness while finding rock bottom quickly after. Good thing for Niners to keep in mind as they go forward to keep it up!

IMO we are probably a little better than people think. People go off of past perception. We don't turn the ball over. We force turnovers. Our special teams is awesome. Our D is very, very good. Our O Line is finally very good. Our RB's are excellent. Our HC is among the best in football. I think this team is very, very good. And Alex is making good decisions and not turning the ball over.
People will believe it when they see it. They are taking a wait and see attitude with the 49ers because so many analysts have been burned by us in the past. This years team I think is different though.

It's pathetic to me what's considered great football this day and age. A team's defense can suck, with teams completing pass after pass and running the ball down their throat, but if you throw the ball 50x a game and pile on the yards, that's a great team? One thing I learned as a kid watching our Dynasty teams (unfortunately for us back then): great defense beats great offense. Hopefully we'll just see how much better the Packers are than us in January. One things for sure, I've seen a lot of great teams. These Packers are far from it. Very good...but great? Hell no. There are no more great teams.

To be honest when it comes to the great teams in the nfl right now all have flaws the patriots, packers and Saints have mediocre to bad defenses. The ravens, steelers and jets have offenses that are inconsistent. The lions and 49ers need to fix parts on offense, the niners specifically the passing game and the run for Detroit. They all have an Achilles heel.

Truthfully we may be one of the best ones. Our defense is better than most of those. And our O. is not as bad as analyst and WZ know it all perceptions.

I rarely agree with Grant and think he's a doosh but I agreed with him for once. I don't know what it is, but just watching the Niners it just seems like they're not as good as their record even though we've beaten good teams. They kind of remind me of the 2001 Bears that went 13-3 had the number 1 defense, got a first round bye, and lost. What do you guys think?
Grant Napier is a moron. hes a biased, loudmouth Kings announcer. anything he says about sports, especially football, ignore.

We may not be the " Great " team in the NFL but i'd take what the team is giving us fans, everyone knows its too early to talk about playoffs but if and when we do get to that point, win or lose i still got the teams back and still giving them mad props for what they did. The packers was in the same situation last year, wild card team that turned into a championship team, anything can happen. People needs to relax and enjoy the show, take whatever the team gives every Sunday win or lose, its great to be a 49ers fan right now. Relax people.

The 'thing' Napier is referring to is a recent history of being a crappy team. But history has shown (especially the last 10 years) that you can be bad one year and still win it all the next season - there's nothing else to point to, we're not number 1 in every category and don't have probowlers playing at every position but neither do the Packers or anyone else.
Oh, and yes Napier is indeed a douche.

Its interesting because the Packers play like a dome team but obviously are not. The 1 playoff game they kind of struggled in was vs Chicago in the cold. The weather will slow them down eventually...just not sure it will slow them down enough. If they make the superbowl though forget it...indoors at Indy.

Me too.
Right now, I think the niners can beat any team in the league including the packers. But the packers would be tough and it would need to be just the right circumstances. Look at the Rams and the Saints. The Saint have a passing attack that can rival the packers and they got taken down a peg real fast on sunday. Alot of mistake-free football and a little luck (not Andrew) can go a long way in this league.
Although in my mind, the NFC championship game is the real superbowl. Because you know that Green Bay is going to be in that game unless Rodgers goes down.
And I think the niners can take any team in the AFC including the Steelers and Pats if they bring their A game.
I just keep hoping they win every sunday (thurs, mon, etc..) and if january rolls around and we are still watching football... so be it :)

Everyone is 0 and 0 in the playoffs. That's when the season really starts....
