I'm pretty sure they've already contacted him about an extension. Keeping the OL together is a top priority for this team.

At what cost?
We're probably going to let Crabtree wallk so that money should go to Iupati.

Any idea on how much money will be tied up to secure Kaep and Aldon next year?

Iupati is definitely one of the best guards in the league.. Number one run blocker IMO. But you can always count on him getting burned once of twice a game in pass coverage.. That being said, would love to give him top money and bring him back

I thought about this and I am sure iupati agent is pushing for Mike to be the highest paid OG in the league. Maybe we say not here because we may have another Alex Boone somewhere on this roster. Long term we may not be able to pay all the OL at the top of the league and keep the team together. We have a lot of high picks next year and maybe we plan to use them replacing pricy free agent defectors and gain a 3rd rd comp for him. Just think we picked AD before Iupati that year because we considered positional value over the fact that Mike was the consensus best G. I am not surprised that we locked up AD first as a result

Replacing a franchise, top of the league left guard is easier than replacing a right tackle? Not sure if serious.

He will be paid top dollar by the Niners regardless of opposing opinion.

Pay him and let Crabtree go and Carlos Rogers if necessary.
