He is not a big name guy, but the signing make sense. The Niners must have felt that Kyle Williams, Crabtree and Ginn can provide more of an immediate impact than Housh or Chambers and as a 4th WR, you have to be able to play special teams and those two guys can't play, but Swain will. Also, we will likely have to cut a guy that contributes on special teams.
