Can somebody summarize how the Oline was doing in the second half when Snyder came into the game? Was there any kind of noticeable improvement?

Hunter and gore had their largest gains of the game. And alex stopped having to run for his life, or get hit as much.

Chilo, Staley and Davis are all weak. I don't see how benching 1 or all of them can result in any worse blocking than what we've seen. For starters, Snyder deserves a crack in the starting line up and Chilo should be ridin' pine.
chilo =bench
staley=better step it up
davis=see positives, i think he is better this year than last. still extremely young and would benefit from someone other than rachal on his left imo

Staley moved to RT
Chilo benched
Kilgore or Davis to RG
Boone to LT for now
I think Davis has LT feet and eventually will get there just not now. Also did I hear they might make Kilgore a center down the road?

That being said, I agree that this unit can't perform much worse than it is right now. If things continue like this for a few more games, the coaching staff may try some real changes during the bye week.

Better find that LT in the 4th or later rounds, since those seem to be the only rounds we don't miss during.
Based on Pre-season Boone might already be a fit there. Let Staley, Davis and Boone fight it out for all 3 spots. Who ever loses backs up both sides. I really don't care who is where as long as the line is working. If I remember correctly, Staley is playing hurt..or hasn't recovered from an injury...so that might be part of the problem. Davis is playing like a rookie..he shines some plays and others he looks really bad... I hope Snyder wins the RG position..he might not be pro-bowl material, but he's solid.

Does Snyder start?
More importantly - Does Harbaugh figure out his only chance is to snap it to Smith in the shotgun every play and let him run backward another five yards before he throws it? Because I am predicting the game is going to come when an opposing DL picks of the snap at some point this year with this OL.

If Kilgore were able to rapidly develop into a center, I would love to see what an OL of Boone-Iupati-Kilgore-Davis-Staley could do.

I have no Idea, my only guess is coaching.
I don't know how we went from having 1-3 holes on the Oline 1-2 years ago, to having one good player (iupati)
It has to be solari.
Yeah, I suspect Solari is part of the problem. When you've got this much raw talent to work with, how can you field a product this bad and still be called a good coach.
The other part of the problem is certainly the switch from man-blocking to zone-blocking. Our personell are better physically equipped and more familiar with man-blocking. But once they get the hang of it I think most of them have the athletic ability to be good at it. The lock-out definatly robbed these guys of a chance to learn and perfect this stuff in a low-pressure setting.

Man, Harbaugh needs to start Snyder in place of Rachal. Chilo has been terrible! Actually, the only Olineman who is playing somewhat well is Iupati. Chilo has been terrible, Davis & Staley have been bad, and Goodwin has been poor. (I can see why it took Goodwin so long to win the center job.)

Next season, if we are lucky.

Why does everyone want to try and put Davis as RG??? I like the line up someone suggested of Boone-Iupati-Goodwin-Kilgore-Davis

REPLACE STALEY & CHILO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Staley is not a pro bowler by any means. At least his play is showing that. Chilo would not start on any other team in this league lol except for the Seahawks,
