are better than this team right now. Unless we blow them out of the water, beating an already down team doesnt prove much.

Eagles??? A 1-3 (only having beaten the winless Rams) team is not better than a 3-1 team that just beat them in their house.
Cowboys? No way, they should be 0-2
Falcons don't look good.
Bucs haven't looked good either...granted, we haven't either at times, but given that we'd be 3-1, we'd definitely be in the conversation.
Did not take serious, lol

Lol crowd lol
People should remember to take into account that us, more than pretty much any other team, should drastically improve as the season goes on. 3-1 is 3-1. Again, it would be coming off winning on the road agains the so-called Dream Team AND having outplayed our opponent in the 1 loss. I don't care if Alex Smith doesn't have a million passing yards. Wins are wins.

Why not?
Only way we are contenders is if we go into the bye 5-1

It puts us closer to a division title, which I'd say is an important step in becoming a contender. If we don the west, then by definition we are contenders. I am worried that the line is going to get Smith injured, we'd be pretty f**ked if that happens.

Given that Vick is out 3-4 weeks because of the hand, if the Niners win they will still get no respect because they can't beat a legit team unless they extremely weakened by injury.
To the OP, I voted no ... I believe it would make The Niners, a team getting better,
in respects to Harbaugh' system (which seems to be, a learn as they go affair).

I'd factor into that equation, more trust in one another, assignment-wise. Lastly, and IMO,
it means the entire coaching staff further believes in their players, to execute a Game-Plan
sound enough to exploit Philly' weaknesses, while playing to SF' strengths, resulting in said win.

BTW, I do expect them to win in Philadelphia, no matter the QB ...

Detroit plays in the NFC--and they do look pretty good.
Umm, no. So far we've struggled against teams that are not that good. If we beat the beagles I will rejoice, but it does not make us serious contenders at this point. They are a very different team without Vick. Plus that is one hard place to win at. Philly sux.

They won last year at SF without Vick, so I would expect the same also this year, especially after witnessing the offensive explosion the Niners had against the Bengals this last week.
