With numbers like that, he should be getting at least 80 catches and 1300 yards. Eric Johnson was a better and more reliable TE.
that last comment about Eric Johnson was down right trollish... no way you can honestly believe that?

JoeC, as usual, you get the last laugh...and i got a great belly laugh out of that, my man.
Kriz, when JH starts having alex throwing quick 1 steppers to Vernon, morgan and Delainie,( all our WRs), I want an official apology. Natch, if you are right, I will offer my apology for stupidity. Right or wrong, we can't pass deep(except maybe 2 or 3 completions a game), we can't run, as we frequently see the box 8, or more often, 9 or 10 guys milling around the LOS, so what does that leave except ST scores, D scores, or, surprise, surprise, short 1 steppers. And i firmly believe both vernon and delainie are up for that. The better news is both guys are good for RAC. If Cincy comes out with box 8,9, or 10 and we don't throw quick slants or out on them, JH should be ashamed of himself. Additional good news, is the unspeakably bad OL will shine if they only have to hold their man for 1 second(unnnh....at least i think they can). To me, this is what we should have done once we established our OL can't block a good team.
Point 2, is another "why haven't we " question. If our DBs and CBs can't cover, then blitz them...every play. Once someone establishes that he can't cover, he either needs to sit the pine or blitz...heck, have him move all around the field and blitz from wherever. But a guy who can't cover is doing us no good hanging back in passD.
I guess that is it for cheap seat advice. Remember Kriz, i'll be looking for that apology.( i think you are about 90% likely to get one, but what the hay).

Both those teams have Pro Bowl QB's.

Its not his fault that he had endure terrible HC's, OC's and qbs for as long as he has been a Niner.

That's 2nd in the NFL amongst tight ends. What a bum.
He's a tight end not Calvin Johnson.

We are trying to build a championship team, why trade a piece we already have?

It all depends on what we get back and who's behind him.
Also, it will be a few years with a new QB before we get into championship mode.

Perhaps, but it should be easy to just design an offense where VD can get open, and even I could get him teh ball at least 5 times a game. Maybe our OC's really have been that bad.

No. People here act like Willis is the greatest player to ever play football.
I think he's the best at what he does, but the man-love for the guy around here is overwhelming and he definitely doesn't belong on your list.
