So for everyone saying "it's only week 2" or "we're 1-1", everything is hunky dory? You don't have any complaints or any disappointments? I find that very hard to believe.

Absolutely right, very dissapointing.

No, but we understand it's week two, and you cannot build an offense in 1.5 months. It's an understanding that it will take time, and for the little time we have had, the improvements are visible. Even Nate Clements sais the 49ers offense if far more dynamic than in the past with the formation shifts and such.
For those who expect this offense to be a Tom Brady led offense with 300 passing yards 3 t.d.'s a game that is what's hard to believe. The expectations from fans is unfair to a rookie head coach, new OC, New DC, new special teams coach, new GM.

Brand new coaching staff, offensive and defensive playbook. Still 1-1 and almost 2-0. I am more encouraged than disappointed at this point. The only time the team has played from behind was when that last FG went through the uprights. The offense should only get better and when it does this team should be ok.

Alex Smith has been holding up and we put some points on the Cowboys. We have been competitive in each game and we had a chance to win each game. So that should keep us in most every game.
Less foolish mistakes and better coaching all around.
Special teams is playing well, front part of the defense is playing well. Offense is growing and still sputtering but I at least can see signs of productivity. So I am encouraged.
Good post. We are building in a positive direction for the first time in years. To those so hell bent on being negative, try saving all the criticism until we have at least played a half of one season. Those of us who like what we are seeing are not all homers or blind followers. We understand you don't build a successful franchise from the ground up in 6 weeks.

Andy Lee, Akers, ST, Run defense, Ray McDonald, Soapoaga holding down NT, Alex scrambling (doing better but problems to fix yet), turnovers (+4?), Ted Ginn on ST/improving at WR
Not happy about.... conservative play calling, some dumb mistakes/penalties, offensive line inconsistency (one week can't run block, one can't pass block, sometimes both), lack of focus on TEs (vd/walker), injuries (can't avoid... spencer/edwards/goldson)..., inconsistent pass rush/blitzing....Reggie Smith taking a step backwards or in his case usually the wrong way (ready for Goldson)
New players... Whitner and Rogers look to be slight improvements but I hope they aren't inconsistent all year. Madieu is pretty much what we thought he was... Edwards' production will decrease dramatically here if we don't change things up.....

So far I think we're ok. Not setting the world on fire but hopefully can build something here.
Alex, has been good imo.
Andy Lee, give him his pro bowl jersey now!
Front 7 on D have been animals. Shame about our nickle & dime packages.
I would like to see more of our rookies though... especially Aldon, Culliver & Hunter... we know CK & Tolzien aren't ready. I know they're learning and will make mistakes but the vets are making huge ones in the process. Looks like Miller is going to get plenty of time this weekend so that's great.

Andy lee needs to have his jersey retired, and he needs to hold out for more money. He is doing almost more than the defense is, by himself.
