He's banking on their pass rush pressure to compensate. If Alex is still upright after 2.5 to 3 seconds, advantage goes to us.
Alex is capable of picking apart this secondary... I agree, it all comes down to stopping D. Ware. I think this might be why Peelle was signed, Vernon is our only blocking TE and the only blocker capable of stopping Ware. With Peelle and A. Davis doubling up on Ware that should slow him down enough to give Alex the time he needs and let Vernon do his pass catching thing.
Why is a TE our best blocker?

Answer: poor coaching historically.

couldn't have said it better myself.
there was a play last week where Lynch stiff armed one of our LB and for a second I thought it was willis. I about shat myself. Then i saw it was bowman.
Dam bro good thing you didn't. It would've been messy and caused you to have a Mierna.
My wife thought it was willis and i said no it wasnt, and she kept saying it was until the replay. Props somewhat to Bowman for resembling Willis kindof

looked just like him up until he got stiff armed. Willis makes that tackle 99 out of 100 times.

Yeah he does. And Bowman hit the backfield quick, it was nice, but it shows just how good Willis is to not make the mistake Bowman did. I really like Bowman coming into his own as long as he doesnt whif at qbs faking him out

Wow, I didn't realize their LB's sucked that bad in coverage. This may be the first game in 5 years that we may actually use BOTH of our talented tight ends.
FS will obviously be helping the CB's. This will mean they may show a lot of cover two or 3-deep. TE's should have some VERY nice seams.

When he had to go up against AZs WRs he played like a pro bowler. He's not consistant week after week but can get up for a big game here and there. Of course if you read between the lines you can tell that he is in the dog house with his boss. Sitting on your a$$ milking a pulled muscle is not the way to endear yourself to the new coach.
Yeah I think this is true. I don't see Brown being able to guard Dez Bryant. Brown has not impressed me at all. I don't think he is very good in coverage and I can see Dez Bryant absolutely abusing him unfortunately. Spencer would match up much better imo. I think Culliver and Brock are better than Brown also. I would put Culliver on him even though he's a rookie. Barrows said in one of his chats that Brown may be the quickest guy on the team, maybe that's true, but it doesn't look like he's very quick in coverage. I've been rooting for him and hope that he gets better, but I just haven't seen anything yet from him that shows that he can be a solid starter.

I am curious to see what Harbaugh does about Ware. Does he send an extra blocker to wherever he lines up to chip block him or does he leave OL 1 on 1?

You dont stop Ware, you can only hope to slow him down.
Smith will have to do more than "manage" this game. Our WR and TE should eat up their secondary, but you got to be able to get them the ball under pressure. I hope can make the right protection calls and our guys actually protect.

I think we have several things in our favor for this game. It sounds like Dallas has a lot of coverage issues for this game. So David and Walker should do well. Then we have the speed issue of Ted Ginn as a WR. So Ginn and Ewards should be a great matchup issue for Dallas. Then if you put Gore and Miller in the flats we can compete and control the clock. If we could get one long bomb to Ginn that would open up highway 87 for Davis. I think the key will be to control Ware and Spencer and make the completions fast and quick for Alex.
Defensively I think we will hold Dallas to 21-28 points. Our key players will be Willis, Bowman, Brooks, Haralson, A. Smith, J. Smith, and McDonald. If we can get 5 sacks it will be just about a match, and equal play between Dallas and SF.
My prediction will be 38-28 SF in a shootout. We will control the clock more but have less first downs. I am predicting 3- 35 yard plus TD plays for Alexis Smith, 1 Defensive TD, and 1 Special Teams TD. Clearly a homer optimistic plan.

Peelle was signed to do a Stevie Johnson-on-Eric Berry on him.

I guess one other thing we have in our favor is that dallas has no idea what our O looks like in that JH kept it under wraps last week...unless frank on 1st, frank on 2nd and frank on third with 4 yds to go, was helpful. Somehow, against the beat up Dallas 2ndary , I don't think we are going to see that sequence on the O. Joe C's 3 TEs is probably right on the mark, and I hope that JH knows enough about Ware's history to not throw any 5-7 steppers...cause Ware will eat that up. Do you think JH sets aside his coaching the OL to passblock for a week and works on runblocking? Obviously our OLs don't know how to do that either, so what will JH do? Man , this should be a fascinating game, and count on Romo to torch our 2ndary, maybe 350 yds worth. Can we score more than Romo? I dunno, plus he has a lot to prove.
That said, Ray bigMac had a very solid game last week, Justin played his usual A game, and Soap looked ok. When in, our #1 pick(hard to believe) got his long arms on one pass and may have touched another. He also looked better than average on passrush. CBs, DBs...wow, it is going to be a long day back there. p-52 played his usual great game, and Bowman made several nice stops. I wonder if JH is going to try and blitz a ton, to help protect the DBs and CBs?
