The woman near us (who was literally screaming the whole game for people to sit down) made the argument, "I pay good money for my seat and I want to watch the game." But ... so did everyone else who wanted to do what real, passionate fans go to games to do. Who has more rights? Seemingly, it's the uptight people who run and complain to an usher every 5 minutes. I know the "excessive standing" rule is a universal NFL stadium thing, but lately I think a lot of parks are taking it too far. The atmosphere is boarder line Nazi-ish at these games. And seriously, if you dislike being around other people who are standing and cheering, maybe your couch at home is where you need to be.
I would like to see her try that in Pittsburgh or Philly

I bet the Bengals game will be more of a home game for the 49ers than the Cowboy game was.
I can't imagine how bad the Steeler game will be this year...

Absolutely, so would I. The whole "princess throwing a fit" thing is ridiculous in any setting, but it's ten times worse at a FOOTBALL game.

Why do you listen to their argument? You're not going to get thrown out for standing and cheering.

I can somewhat understand a minimal Niner crowd later on in the season but week 2 against the Cowboys of all teams and our fan base doesn't show up... Fn pathetic

Had it just been her complaining it wouldn't have been an issue and no one would've listened to her. However, it was the fact that she and her husband went to get ushers and security personnel several times throughout the game who then came and aggressively told those who were standing that they had to sit or face ejection.

Lack of crowd support at the stick? ...I, for one, am shocked!
The loudest I have heard it was at the 2002 playoff game against the Giants and even then, it's a lot of bandwagon fans that just started paying attention. California and Florida have to be the worst sports states in the US. College sports don't count because it's a lot of obligatory student support.
Come watch live CFL football in the middle of October/November and you'll see what football fans are about...pansies...

They need to hire several people like dancing homer and designate them to certain sections, encouraging the fans to get loud and to quiet down (when appropriate).
If only there was such a job...

LOL! This. My girlfriend and I were laughing at how the chant for "DEFENSE" would come out during a TV timeout, and as well as when they are in the huddle callling the play, and then it just stops...gets all quiet...really? You are trying to rile up our defense AS they play, not when they are huddled up.
The sticks PA system is a piece of crap as well.
