Of course Alex can win a Superbowl, its just not very likely. This is a dumb argument. Put any QB with Alex's talent in the right situation and he'll have a good chance to win a Superbowl and if the 3 names above you don't convince you, than you are just blinded by your hatred for Alex. And I'm not Alex apologist either. The guy hasn't proved s**t.

In all fairness Steve Young hasn't exactly been an Alex Smith supporter through the years. He's also a great example of wasted talent. We all remember steve on the 49ers but seriously go watch some Bucs film. I don't think anybody was doing backflips when they brought him in to backup montana. Lot's of guys turn it around later in their career, steve young, Rich Gannon, Jim Pluncket. The big uncharted territory here is that nobody has ever done it with the same team. Like it or not the Alex Smith experiment continues. We all want to be able to say I told you so, but nobody is going to care if Alex actually emerges this season. Alex lovers and haters alike are just ready to see something good.

Its only genuine because it is what zoners want to hear. If he said Alex sucks, the he would be a grumpy ex qb who know nothing about football analysis.

I honestly think it's possible. IMO Alex has had clueless developers. Now he has a master. Plus his line has always sucked. If they can fix that he will do pretty well with the weapons he has this year. I don't know if it will happen or not. But I don't think it's impossible.
