The way the OL is playing and the individual play amkes me believe we are in for a very up and down experience early on. Thank god most of our divisional games are in the back end of the season. The sky isn't falling but I am also not as optimistic as I started out either. I really want to win the first game against Seattle badly , that would be a very good start.

I have no clue what to expect this season. After the Raiders game I was pleased with what I saw. I think that shows that we are capable of playing ok, when everybody does their jobs. Then came Houston and we didn't look organized at all. I myself believe this was due to the way Harbaugh approached the game. We didn't really gameplan against them, and looked to be more concerned about ourselves. Texans game planned and whooped us.
We were a 6 win team last year. We had a few chances to win close ball games but we faultered. I don't think we have really gotten any worse than last year so anything under 8 wins will be disappointing. I see no way we start off 0-5 with the talent and hopefully a better coaching staff.
Right now the entire West is a huge ?. I think we have as good of a shot than any other team in our division.

We will be lucky to win more than 5-7 games at most. We will take some major steps backwards as JH installs his new offense and really has a chance to evaluate the players on this team.
By midseason we might have a chance at coming together and looking stronger, but at least the first half of the season will be tough. There will be a steep learning curve for the team and for JH as a first time NFL HC.
This is, for all intents and purposes, a rebuilding year. We need to give the team time to become what JH wants to make it. It will NOT happen overnight. We didn't have a long enough off season or upgrade enough talent for coaching alone to make an immediate impact.
Expect some long days ahead while this team goes through what will essentially be training camp for the first couple months of the season.

I think this is about as close to the truth as we can get at this point.

I still think we can have a winning season, but our OL must look much more like they did vs Oakland than they did vs NO and Houston.
agreed

8-8. We'll be a trap game for a couple teams and we'll beat our division.

This is my feeling too. I think this group will be cohesive enough at least in the 2nd half of the season to scrape together a minimum of 7 wins.

If the O-line plays well I can see ten wins. If they play as bad as the Saints and the Texans then we be lucky to win one game. I say trade Gore and Crabtree for minimum number 2 draft picks. Package those two draft picks and our number one and offer it to the worst team. Oh hold it we might be the worst team.

Actually, I think we'll win the season opener because teams win for new head coaches.
Then we won't win for another six or seven games before winning our next contest. We'll finish the season by losing the rest of our games.
HOWEVER -- and this is kind of hard to put into words but I think it's true -- these will be entertaining losses. We will come close. Real close. But, because it's a young team it will be maddingly inconsistent.

Our offensive line was bad last year, and we still have the same players and the same line coach. Guess what? For some reason they are still bad. We do have a weak devision and a really light schedule, so we won't have the worst record. I say 6 or 7 wins.

a few weeks ago i'd thought we'd win between 6 and 9 games.
haven't seen anything to change my mind.
