Snyder has started at RG in the past and hardly distinguished himself,particularly in pass protection. Unfortunately, he may be the best the team has at this point.

What is the solution? Signing a FA starting guard at this stage, with training camp already having begun, seems unlikely.

Therefore...I wouldn't be surprised at all to see one of the rookies starting at RG within the first few games of the season. Derek Hall, an athletic OT who played for Stanford last year, has been signed as an UDFA and moved inside to OG. Because he knows Harbaugh's system, he is my dark-horse to make the team as a backup and possibly...more? Kilgore and Person are also possibilities, although the latter has been working at OT I hear.

what are you talking about when snyder started at RG our o line was a million times better it was the saints agme go check up that game vs any other there is a huge difference

One game does not an OL or OLman make... Overall, he has never distinguished himself. I would like to think otherwise but he gets consistently beaten in pass protection.

While I agree that Rachal has been disappointing and I'd feel more comfortable with Snyder starting at RG, I think you guys have given up on him too quickly.

Remember that he came out early and in this, his 4th year, he will still only be 25 when the coming season ends.

There is a reason that the staff hasn't removed him from the starting lineup and he has more ability than the zone gives him credit for (and should only get better).

I remember the game announcer wondering why Rachel was starting again when the line had played so much better with Snyder the week before.

Rachal is no more than an average backup guard in this league and it is only because of Singeltary's bromance with him that kept him in our lineup so far.
