They have Volek ahead of alex smitH? AND troy smith ahead of Chad Pennington? wow.
You mean the Pennington that isn't playing next year because his arm is about to fall off. And I would rather have Volek than Smith.
This.
Even if he played for 2 games, at least you would be in those 2 games, troy smith would have a 40% completion percentage, and probably throw 7 picks.
You are not very smart are you? Before posting you could have googled Troy Smiths stats and see how far off you are. Troy Smith received the same amount of stars as Alex Smith in the rankings, and I have to say most people would agree with that assessment. Troy Smith did earn the starting qb job from Alex Smith, it is questionable why Alex got the job back.
It was not questionable how Alex got the job back, if you watched his last 2-3 starts, he looked like a highschooler out there.
But but but Sing was the worst coach in the history of football....and Raye was the most inept OC in the history of like...the NFL. Plus, Crabtree's the biggest bust in all of sports.

Right, so Troy Smith has no choice to have played like a high schooler.

This is another example of webzoners exagerating to make a point. Crabtree the biggest bust in all of sports.
OK, lets break it down, Crabtree has played in the regular season the first two years after being drafted. He was productive, and opposing defenses had to plan for him week in and week out. Now lets compare Crabtree to other 49ers draft picks in round 1, and I will not going into all of sports because Jemarcus Russell would take the top spot.
So in the first two years who was better, Crabtree or
1. Alex Smith
2. Reggie McGrew
3. Kwayne Harris
4. Joe Staley (I love Staley) but at this point he has been average and injured considering his contract size.
5. The DL who the niners traded to seattle, drafted in round 1, I was so mad at that pick I put his name oout of my mind.
6. Hall
7. RW McQuarters
8. JJ Stokes
9. Jim Drunkenmiller
Get my point, there is no way Crabtree is worse than the aforementioned (maybe not Staley) so there is no way he is the biggest bust in all of sports, let alone even the niners.

RW McQuarters and Stokes have super Bowl rings. Talk about Being at the right place at the right time.

JJ Stokes belongs to the BlackHawk country club. I see him lounging around all the time. No wonder he sucked as a WR, his work ethic post the NFL is zero.

this place is more divisive than a political forum. even comes with its own poor oppressed anti-Smith bigots who feel great injustice towards peoples reactions to their trite and juvenile opinions about football. lol.

I think the judgment is way premature, but if Crabtree really became a dud, he'd turn out to be one of the worst first-round picks ever by the 49ers considering all the ruckus up until this point. Let's not forget that there are better WRs drafted later than Crabtree in that year, and Oher was right there for the taking.
With the exception of Smith most people on your list were drafted much later in the first round. Usually once you're past 15th pick, there is no more of a sure thing. In the case of Smith, in another year, he'd have been either late first round, or most likely second round.

Smith's ranking is about right. What s really telling about the rankings is the high ranking that Manny received under the OLB ranking. Some fans want to just let him walk??????
