Man. I can't believe Lee Ziemba from Auburn who was the 2010 SEC Jacobs Blocking Trophy winner got selected in the late 7th round after we took two small school OL... wow. SEC OL trophy winner from a national championship school vs. small school standout. Ouch. Ziemba is a steal and probably should have been a middle rounder. He started all 52 games at LT! Only problem is that he isn't athletic and had a lot of false starts, but one of the top lineman in the SEC???
I have to research this Kilgore guy.

No, he is nothing like Kwame. Kwame was a book smart, piano playing, finesse blocker. This guy sounds like a tenacious, mauler type. Definitely like the sounds of this kid. The fact that he had the ability to play LT, but will be asked to play G should hopefully mean he can make the transition fairly easily. May need to add a little bulk (10-15lbs), but he won't be asked to start right away most likely, so that shouldn't be an issue. If they think he has the ability to play C as well, even better.

There is a pattern to their drafting - tough, smart, coachable, young players that seem to have high ceilings. One of the problems in the past is that our players often never got better after they were drafted, partly because coaching was poor. Harbaugh has confidence that he can make something out of these guys.

I was responding to the Ziemba comment. See the quoted passage in my message.

Oh, gotcha. Sorry. Yes, that part does remind me of Kwame, unfortunately. But that can be coached out of a player, usually.

NFL Draftcountdown had Kilgore on their "super sleeper" list. At least someone knew something about him!

The nasty quality makes him sound like Harvey Dahl. A year on the PS could serve him well.

That's what I have been hearing and it's funny because I listed to his conference call and he seems like a really nice polite guy. Guess a lot of guys can flip a switch once they hit the field though. Kept apologizing because he was at a loss of words but gave a great interview. Said he was on top of the world.
P.S. Why isn't there a thread for Mike Person or did I miss it?
