I would really like to see Jed York continue to rebuild bridges with some of our old players.

Meh, Jerry loves his loves golf.
Jerry has tons of dough in the bank.
Is he really going to make all the necessary sacrifices it would take to be a WR coach in the NFL?
Don't get me wrong. I love Jerry Rice. And I'd love to see him around the org more.
Just not sure if fast tracking him into the coaching ranks would be a good idea.

He came all the way over to London to be a part of the game over here. Made speeches and so on.
He can be got more involved with the team. Not sure it is a straightforward coaching role, though.

Yeah, I don't see him as an 8-5 kind of employee, watching film to 2 am every night. He would be more likely to come in as a guest instructor.
He would also serve as a link to the past. Now that JH is there, the York's idea of erasing the past is on hold and we will see more of the past players getting involved again.

I would love to see a lot of the former players from the glory years spend time with our current players, it would be beneficial to our team to have pride in our team and have a bridge between the old and new players to help the new guys understand what a class act franchise they are a part of

Great if he came on board. He should start off w/his incredible training program. Then do a month long clinic w/ all receivers. SHOW HIM THE MONEY!

I think with Harbaugh leading this team, there's a much better chance of Rice & other former 49ers to be involved with the team. Nolan & Sing pretty much ignored the benefits of having such a great history & resources that are available. I guess they wanted to put their own stamp on the team. Harbaugh seems connected to this team's past & seems like he wants to repeat the Walsh years.
