After Bill Walsh and the 49ers won Superbowl 23 in 1989, here are the list of Superbowl teams coached by someone under the Walsh tree.

Superbowl 24 Winner- George Seifert, 49ers
Superbowl 29 Winner- George Seifert, 49ers
Superbowl 31 Winner- Mike Holmgren, Green Bay Packers
Superbowl 32 Winner- Mike Shanahan, Denver Broncos
Superbowl 32 Appearance - Mike Holmgren, Green Bay Packers
Superbowl 33 Winner- Mike Shanahan, Denver Broncos
Superbowl 34 Appearance - Jeff Fisher, Tennessee Titans
Superbowl 35 Winner- Brian Billick, Baltimore Ravens
Superbowl 37 Winner- John Gruden, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Superbowl 38 Appearance - Andy Reid, Philadelphia Eagles
Superbowl 39 Appearance - John Fox, Carolina Panthers
Superbowl 40 Appearance - Mike Holmgren, Seattle Seahawks
Superbowl 45 Winner- Mike McCarthy, Green Bay Packers

Pretty amazing legacy that continues...

Hope to see Jim Harbaugh, who I consider under the Bill Walsh coaching tree, continue the legacy with the 49ers.
I have a hard time seeing Norv under the Bill Walsh Tree.
That tree is inaccurate.

Norv Turner is from the "Digit System" or "Air Coryell" offense that uses the run to set up the deeper patterns. Think Dallas Cowboys ala 1990's or Washington Redskins after Turner took over there. Totally different scheme that actually predated Walsh's system.

Plus it wouldn't be right to put Turner under Mike Nolan. Turner had been a HC at least twice before Nolan sniffed a HC job.
I would agree with both observations (burp).

No way Norv Turner is from the Bill Walsh tree, and Mike Nolan does not deserve a tree. If anything Norv Turner is from the Jimmy Johnson tree.

Norv Turner from Mike Nolan? Norv was a head coach long before Nolan ever was. In fact Nolan was Turner's DC in Washington.

exactly what I was thinking. Norv was HC prior to any job with nolan
According to this Mike Nolan and Mike Singeltary are both under the Walsh coaching tree.

GO WALSH COACHING TREE!!!!

Even more difficult to see Nolan and Singletary on there!
Most of those SB loses where because they where facing others on the Bill Walsh tree which means a no win situation.
Someone should trim that Dennis Green branch.
I wanna know what it takes to be considered part of a coaching tree. Nolan coached under Billick for 2 or 3 years but he came into the league with Dan Reeves and spent years with him and with Al Groh.
I've seen Mike Shannahan at a Broncos game before so that also makes me part of the tree.
Shouldn't Spagnulo be under andy reid instead of parcells
Like the tree, but there's a lot of asterisks that need be in place.
