The 49ers — always ahead of their time — taped everything. Unfortunately for Harbaugh, the library of videos at the team facility has been decimated by coaches that took videos and never returned them.

Who do we have to kill?!?!?!?!?!

Are you not aware of who has run the 49ers during the last decade?[/quote]

I wouldn't doubt if John York used the BW film to tape soft core porn.....

i think terry donahue burned some

If it were Singletary I would understand the concern. No worries my friend...

Lol that wouldnt surprise me either
I am glad that we have a smart enough coach to know we don't have to invent the wheel again but learn from our rich history, and build off our firm foundation of offensive genius!!! Now all we need is a accurate and poised quaterback that makes everybody better all around him! Now Balke got it right when he said that guy is not on our current roster! P.S If we pass on Cam newton it will have the same impact of when we passed on Rodgers! holla at me!!
Who would steal Bill Walsh's tapes......what kind of cruel, dishonest, greedy, corrupt business are we in to.
why does nfl films have them? that seems like something that we should keep in house. can other teams look at them too? atleast nfl films did have them since our incompetent team couldnt even protect the most important info any team could have. bill walsh's brain.

Omg! He dug up Bill Walsh!
That's stupid. He doesn't need to have Bill Walsh tapes. He just needs to be his own person. Guys will respect him more if they believe in him.

Yea just like nolan and singletary did huh! I can respect what you are saying in that he needs to update and build upon the core philosophy wit his own twist to accomodate today's nfl, but I welcome the fact that he is trying to get fully acclimated wit yesterdays culture and tradition and reinstitute our much replicated identity. As a 49er fan that grew up outside the bay area, the team's identity (WCO among other things) is what I fell in love wit and the last few years we have strayed from it. It would b nice to get back to it. Look at Pittsburgh, they haven't strayed and their fans love em for it. Hell yeah harbaugh should b pumped to get those tapes and rebuild that library of video and in time players will respect him if he keeps workin as he is doing

Walsh was a good teacher of his offense. I don't think Harbaugh is using it to add to his offense. It'll probably more for teaching his players certain aspects of the offense. What better teacher of it than the original guy that came up with it.

Those installation tapes were painstakingly made for a reason. To be ignored for these many years is a sad testament to the direction this franchise has taken in the last decade. I really think Harbaugh is about to reverse that.
Singletary never did find the rat and I'll bet the rat took the tapes!

if anybody can innovate it's harbaugh.. loved the article on how he was noticing league "trends" and how certain plays were done through this week to that week.

Plus i love how he shuffles around the players and understands the advantage of being unpredictable..
