Alex Smith: 44%
Michael Crabpubes: 19%
Aubrayo Franklin: 2%
Ahmad Brooks: 2%
Dashon Goldson: 32%
Wow, I'm surprised by the 32% for Goldson as he is relatively new to the starting lineup and little expectation for greatness. Smith is understandable--6th year. Crabtree is too young to count out, Franklin is good so can't be a disappointment and I don't know what to thnk of Brooks...picked him up cheap, so?

I don't understand the Goldson "disappointment." He has had only one good game in his career here. He always goes for the big explosive hit and winds up whiffing on too many. His play identification has never been good. He is what he is - a below average safety in a secondary that suffers due to a lack of pass rush.
I think it was because people thought that he would grow into the safety role in his second full year in the position. He played decent in what was essentially his first year as a rookie in 2009. However, in 2010, his play just regressed - at least in our eyes.

O-line wasn't that big of a disappointment because it had two rookies on and took injuries to the starting LT AND C position. Aside from the Chiefs, Chargers and Bucs game, I think they actually played pretty well.
The secondary was pretty disappointing though
My vote goes to Alex but only because of where and why we drafted him. You can't miss in that spot and we did.
Goldson is second only because of all the hype he recieved after ONE good GAME. He played well vs the Cardinals on Monday Night Football and that was the end of that

So there has never been a single #1 overall pick that didn't pan out?
The reason why I say the oline is because supposedly we were supposed to be this smashmouth football team with a nasty oline. To bad our oline got zero push.

Aubrayo Franklin? Is the OP serious? Besides Willis and Justin Smith, Franklin was our best player on defense.

Yeah, of course there has been and they are a disappointment. Alex is not the ONLY one by far but he is one none the less.
Our O-line was not bad aside from those 3 games (Chiefs, Chargers, Bucs) and to lose your only two Vets (Staley and Heitmann) is VERY tough to overcome so they get a pass

I don't understand why everyone holds the place Alex Smith was drafted against him. It's not like he drafted himself. The 49ers felt he had more "potential" than Aaron Rodgers so they chose him. Did they do anything to develop that potential? Nope. Oh well not going to turn this into an Alex Smith thread.
you give guys like Chilo Rachal a pass

This thread isn't what COACH has been the biggest disappointment. It is what player and with excuses aside, it's hands down Alex.
Chilo looked bad and I couldn't believe he was still starting. He is good as a "pulling" guard but he rarely "pulled" but you didn't say Chilo. You said the offensive line and think the O-line has a whole gets a pass because they had two rookies and the only two vets that just so happened to be playing the most important positions (LT-blind side protector and C-nucleus of the O-line) went down

exactly. 6 years worth of saying but, but... but... but... but... but.... but... gets old man. For once you just have to man up and perform or take a walk
