All of these players were coming into the season with high expectations. Franklin is on the list because he held out during training camp because he believed that he deserved a new contract.

Why do people keep bashing Franklin?
The guy had a great year even after missing camp and TC. He was a big part of our 6th ranked rush D. IIRC, we allowed less than 3 yards per carry this past season.

Nothing is worse than a 1st pick QB that busts...its effects are lasting on a franchise for years.
BTW. Why the f**k is Aubrayo Franklin in this poll?

They were all dissapointments to me this year.
But then again, what player besides Davis and Willis have even lived up to expectations?
I think our lack of a decent coaching staff over the last 7 years has really held back the overall developement of this team.

Franklin is on the poll because he sat out of training camp because he was unhappy about his contract. I believe that if you sit out training camp, you should be a Pro Bowl player.

Crabtree... he did not improve much over last season IMO.

You might have "Crabs" or "VD" on your "Dixon"

Alex Smith is not a disappointment because we all knew he would suck this year like he does every year.

Crabtree was a big disappointment. He was suppose to be great at running routes and catching balls, since he can't run fast and isn't tall... but he ended up being unreliable.
Everyone sort of knew Smith wasn't going to be good, especially with Sir Raye at the helm, so he is much of a disappointment.

I don't understand the Goldson "disappointment." He has had only one good game in his career here. He always goes for the big explosive hit and winds up whiffing on too many. His play identification has never been good. He is what he is - a below average safety in a secondary that suffers due to a lack of pass rush.

I completely agree with your thoughts on Goldson. But for some reason, a lot of people thought that he was gonna have a breakout year.

I think it was because people thought that he would grow into the safety role in his second full year in the position. He played decent in what was essentially his first year as a rookie in 2009. However, in 2010, his play just regressed - at least in our eyes.
