People act as if it's a given that Westbrook will even be back next season. He's a FA if I'm not mistaken. Who knows if we retain him or if he even wants to sign here. Sing. kind of gave him the shaft the better part of the season.

I want Vernon Davis to the the focal point, talk about wasted potential. watching Gore play is f**king boring, other than the once out of 30 attempts that he breaks for a big gain.

hell the f**k no. the focal point should be the qb. all the good teams are centered on their qbs winning games for them. like the niners used to be. Harbaugh loves to run but he always uses the pass to set up the run for the most part. More VD, Crabs, Morgan and less Gore is a good thing. makes us less predictable.

This. It's not about "hating" Gore it's about having an efficient offense. Focusing on one RB doesn't work anymore... Plus we'd like to have him healthy for the playoffs. Limit his touches to 15-20 per game so he can stay fresh

in fact, we should re-hire dingleberry and jimmy raye, they know best how to utizlize his talents.
I wouldn't pile too much on Singletary and Raye, even Norv Turner tried to get Gore the ball 25 touches a game with pass and run.
in 2006 with a 2nd year 22 yr old quarterback. big difference.
if we start a rookie how is that different?
because Gore is older and slower!

I just want balanced/imaginative play-calling.
For RB's, he should still command the most reps but probably should share more reps throughout the rest of the guys.

if we didnt have gore our rb wouldnt have that many touches. it is his talent and production that make us give him the ball that many times. look at what happens when the vikings dont give peterson the touches or the goaline carries he should get. they fall hard big time.
having a focal point means we dont know how or cant successfully get other players involved so i dont want a focal point. but gore has carried the load better then we could have hoped with all the s**tty play calling so i still wouldnt be mad thinking of what he could do in an actual offense

Totally agree.. I want an offense that is completely unpredictable and has no tendancies.
This will keep opposing defenses on their toes and make it harder to game plan against the 49ers.

I'd like to see a QB be the focal point. That being said i want Gore to remain heavily in the mix.

Gore hasn't been that good for the last 2 years. He breaks off big runs against bad teams, but most of his runs are like 2 yards. I would like to see us get a guy that gets 3 or 4 yards a carry on a consistant basis.

I wouldn't mind Gore even backing up Westbrook, especially coming off a broken hip. Looking at Playoff teams guys like Lynch and Starks these guys didn't even play the first half of the year and are fresh in January.
I laughed when VD said Harbaugh should give him the ball 15 times a game, but I wouldn't be mad cuz I often thought that Davis should have been target much more this year.
I'm not going to go as far as say we need to trade Gore, but I think the days of "he's such a competitor we can't take him off the field" need to be over.
he will untill we get a QB !
