I would love to be proved wrong.

It's either Stanford or us, in that order.

$8.0 Million / Year and a TAX FREE STATE with Miami. No choice there. That's a no brainer...
So if you were given an opportunity to move to Miami for a little more money, you'd go? Is it really that easy? I'd take less money to stay in the Bay Area personally. I think it has more to do with the 49ers front office than money.
$8 Million / Year and a tax free state is damn near double when compared to $4.5 Million and a high taxed state.
That's a no brainer. It's millions of differnce per year and mega millions of difference over the life of the contract.
We aren't comparing $50,000 to $53,000 here... Where you could stay where you want to be. Who said he has such allegiance to the Bay Area. He's lived in Michingan in his life, Chicago, Indy etc. He's followed his opportunities in life. The Bay is hardly the only place he can be.
stop quoting wrong information
Such as?
The 49ers were prepared to offer an average salary of about $5 million, with a bonus package that could take it to a maximum of $6 million annually, according to a source.
The NFL Network reported he was offered $4.5 Million from us and rejected it. If they were willing to escelate it to $5.0 Million good for them when the Dolphins got involved.
Even if we assume that the last time I checked.
$4.5 - $5.0 Million in high taxed state < $8.0 Million in tax free state...

be worried. Your confidence is amusing. Hes going back to stanford unless the niners up their offer. Its not all about the money, its about the best structure which definitely leaves out the winers. Stanford it is.

You all realize that Florida is not a "tax free" state...you pay higher property taxes, etc etc...government doesnt run for free

On "income." Last time I checked you pay property taxes here too...
And you can regulate that. You can buy a greater or lessor sized property. Income tax just comes straight out of your check either way.

i think all of you are forgetting a major detail
if he signs with the 49ers he coaches in the weakest division in the NFL
if he signs with the dolphins hes in one of the hardest
the biggest notion of college to pro coaches is that they usually dont have the same if any success....i think being the competitor he is that will have a bigger effect than money
---still not sure he lands with us tho
on a side note...(joke >>>>) head coaches have been traded in the nfl...since he technically is still employed by Stanford cant we trade haralson, rachal, and our qb depth chart for harbaugh

I am just ready for this to be over.
So you subscribe to the theory like other WZers I see that $4.5 Million / Year in a high taxed state > $8 Million / Year in a tax free state?
no. i subscribe to the theory that the 9ers final offer is/will be closer to 6.5m and that is enough to keep JH in the bay area.
Money is not everything... Miami put a lot of people/coaches off with the way they handled this... I think Harbaugh is taking EVERYTHING into consideration. I will be surprised if he goes to Miami.
