He's absolutely a keeper...a telling comment came from David Baas, who said he keeps hearing Westbrooks's still pretty good "at this stage of his career". BS, says Baas, who think's Brian has plenty left in his tank. Given Gore's injury, he'd be great insurance while Dixon continues to develop.

RB Brian Westbrook said he'll want to go somewhere he can contribute next season. Spoke w/ Trent Baalke, who told him depends on new coach.

We need a QB, pass rusher, maybe NT, definitely a CB, and maybe a safety as well. I also wouldn't be shocked if we went after a G. I like a speedy back, but there are guys like that every year. It isn't an absolute need to get a guy like Devine this year if we can have Gore, Westbrook, and Dixon next season. Not that I'm against drafting Devine either .

I would like to keep WB around in a reduced role. I could see him being a good contributor, but not on a full-time basis. I would only consider this if he isn't looking to break the bank.

reduced? i don't know how you could reduce his play anymore than it was this past season. Westy is a solid #2. he's one of the best ever at picking up the blitz. he was way underutilized this season and that may be a good thing.
resign Westy!!!

THIS!!!!!
If utilized properly this year, who knows what kind of offensive numbers the Niners would have put up.

How many times were Frank Gore and Westbrook on the field together? I don't know the exact number, but it couldn't be greater than 10.
Having 2 backs that are good at catching the ball and moving in space like that would create matchup problems very easily. I don't understand why they were never out there together.

Harbaugh would be able to utilize both on the field together.

This.
I was hoping to see this all season long. I was so excited when the Niners signed Westbrook but as the season wore on, I knew he wasn't going to be a huge factor due to Singletary's "game plan"...
I'm so glad s**t-on-a-Shingletary is gone.

Deion Sanders wanted to adopt Devine. Even lived with him for a while. Didn't work out... for some reason. Sanders is probably going to promote the kid hard. Just sayin'....
My Uncle is a huge West Virginia fan and says the guy is really good and fast and can return kicks, but is small, has some character concerns, and isn't very smart. Devine also didn't catch the ball a lot.
I think Westbrook still has gas left in the tank. It'd be nice if we could actually use him right. I was excited when we signed him and very annoyed that we didn't use him.

They actually were out there together. Shotgun formation flanking the QB. Just never really did anything interesting with it.
