Anyone who says Kwame Harris is just blinded. Though he was definitely the most hated. Wasn't even close to being the worst player.
LMAO!!! oh man that guy sucked

I know it has to be more than one year, but Lawrence Philips is the worst by far IMO. A genuine scumbag and the reason our last HOF QB had to leave football. Other than him, in the "more than one year" category, I nominate Druckenmiller--that guy was a waste of practice field air and space on the precious 49ers bench.

There are alot to choose from. Though two posters up said Antonio Langham I will just go with him. The guy was supposed to be a stud and finally repair a long broken secondary. All he did was fail. Picking on the kickers is fun too, Cortez, Pochman.

Exactly. Even early in the 2000s we were in playoff games. Only when the Alex era was beginning did we stay down for so long. The lowpoint in franchise history my friends. The good thing is it goes in cycles and our time is coming once again.
You guys are ignorant if this is your take on this topic. The problem is that in 2004 we dumped 90% of our talent. It is easy to blame someone that had nothing to do with the root of the problem, but if you use the brain the Good Lord gave you, you would be able to see that no matter who we picked with that #1 pick, they would not have been able to overcome what had just been done to this team by its front office.
Yeah, and we gave some of that talent back to Alex from 2006-2010. Didnt do much with it, now did he ?
Also, Sam Bradford went to the worst team in the NFL and what's his excuse? He threw for more 300 Yard games in his rookie year than Alex has in his sorry-ass 6 year career!
He has a better talent level around him, he has more talent. I am just saying that Smith is nowhere close to the worst player I have seen in a niner uniform. He is not even the worst QB we have ever had. If you think anything other than that you are just ignorant or a jackass...or both.
Really? You think the Rams have more talent than we do? Outside of Steven Jackson (who I was screaming for us to draft, instead we got Rashaun "Got No" Wood"), who do they have to help Bradford out??

The 1-15 Rams last year were loaded with talent, didn't you know that? Bradford was walking into the perfect situation. No one in the history of the NFL has had it worse than Alex Smith. If he was managed right 49er fan would have forgotten about Joe Montana and Steve Young. You can easily see if in the right situation he would have 6 Super Bowl rings by now.

Memphis, you've gotta be a complete retard if you think that Bradford has more talent in STL than what Alex has had over the past six years. And you're calling others jackasses...
This years Rams are way better than the 2005 niners were. Much better coaching, and Bradford is definitely more NFL ready. You must have not understood the point, the point being that we have had much worse players, even QB's, than Alex Smith, who is mediocre.
I'm not gonna argue that Alex was or wasn't the worst player. My point is that both the 2005 49ers and the 2010 Rams had terrible talent on offense. Absolutely terrible. The Niners had Eric Johnson and Brandon Lloyd and Frank Gore. The Rams have Stephen jackson, Danny Amendola and Brandon Gibson.
I think its pretty close...
