Stop Bashing Jed York!

~ Never explained the Scot M. situation and why we didn't have any GM in a disastrous season.
~ Plays with his water bottle like a nervous kid at a press conference.
~ Acts like the Petulant Child he is when Lowell Cohn calls him on the carpet with tough questions.

This is who you have faith in.

Hey... I thought you were trying the optimist approach this year

I would like to believe too. But history with Jed tells me otherwise. If the does the right thing and hires Harbaugh and gets out of the way and lets him do the job maybe I will see things differently then.

There is just no reason to believe in new found hope and change where he acts like a Petulant Child at a press conference with the very few tough questions he faced.

I wont judge you cause I dont know you but I have a question to ask you,,,do you have anything positive to say about the Niners at all? All I see is you complain so I was just wondering.

And Blaming Jed York for his parents faults are the same as (Say one of your parents were convicted of something and everytime I saw you on the street I'd Harrass you as a cop for YOU being a convict)

Not sure why he'd get a pass. He deserves criticism for hiring Mike Singletary, one that set this franchise back at least a few years.

By all mean he gets no free pass, but he is a kid and it sounds like he knows that he smurfed up. There has already been some changes.

It's not like this kid is the TUNA that has been doing it for 40 years, he is really young and learning.

Which means we are in an exceptionally bad situation as a franchise because of it...

You keep ignoring the fact that Jed is consulting his uncle.

This is why the franchise is in such bad shape. People think it's normal for an owner to learn on the job and consult his UNCLE!!!
Why was he put in his position if he was young and NOT READY???
Give me an example of any other team doing this.
All we can do is hope Jed figures it out and until then the jury is out.
I belive in Jed
And LEAVE BRITTANY ALONE!!!

The Fortyniners When the team was handed over to Eddie D and he learned on the job.
Our team is in much better shape talent-wise and cap-wise then in 2005. This should attract better quality candidates. It won't be as hard to hit on this GM as it was in our recent history.

1) Jed "learning on the job" is completely subjective. Even experienced owners and GM's still learn on the job. I don't believe that anyone can get to a point where they know all there is to know about running a football franchise. But short of knowing him personally, I don't see how anyone here is in a position to question or make assumptions about what he knows.

Simply put, you don't know yourself.

2) I'm lost on why consulting with the man that presided over the franchise while it was winning multiple Super Bowls is a BAD idea?

Call me crazy, but Eddie D. may know a thing or two.

3) He made a mistake in hiring Singletary. He didn't beat around it, or try to dress it up as anything other than what it was. Even the best owners in the league make mistakes.

Again, it happens.

That in no way implies that Jed has considerable experience either. But short of knowing him personally, I don't see how anyone here is in a position to question or make assumptions about what he knows.

Simply put, you don't know yourself.

I didn't say consulting Eddie was a bad idea. It just shows how much help Jed needs. I love the fact Eddie is back in some capacity because the franchise needs all the help it can get.
And no I don't know him as most people here don't either so I'm saying the coming weeks will show us if he can do A LOT BETTER than his parents.
Not bashing, just frustrated.
I think the bashing is a little unnecessary. Let's look at what he has done...

-Hired Sing - okay for interim choice, but probably bad move for hiring full time. They didn't even interview other candidates, and became enamored with Sing's very persuasive personality. At the end of 2008, most fans were perfectly okay with the hire. Others didn't like it, but it seemed like the right move.

-Took care of the stadium - definitely a good move, as he was heavily involved in the process, but nobody give him credit for this.

-Kept Sing after 2009 - you could see that Sing had the team moving in a positive direction. First non-losing record since 2002, and Alex was improving (according to some).

-McC left and promoted Trent - Trent ran a very good draft (well, looks good for now...) and who was possibly available for GM at this time? Who would take over 3 weeks prior to the draft? The interview process alone wouldn't have finished until after the draft.

-Kept Sing until week 16 in 2010 - When did you all expect him to get fired? Midseason coaches changes never work out nicely. Who did we have on staff to take over the job? etc. etc.

-Big talk for HC/GM for 2011 - This has yet to be seen...

Odd that zoners have blind faith in people that have not done anything right. So far he fired Singletary as a good deed, but that doesn't count until he replaces him with someone obviously better. He hasn't done anything else positive so far.

Troll.

No. This is who you guys have faith in. There is nothing there but empty talk. History has shown the wrong decisions are made by Jed York almost all the time.

What history has there been with Jed. From what I know and everyone else on the Zone is that Jed as not been in control for that long. Everything you say is trash

Jed was in charge of plenty of things that went wrong with the 49ers. He's failed big time in his short time leading the team. Read the previous posts.

Jed is now Eddie D's puppet. It doesn't get better that that.
I think Jed will make a good hire this time around. Jed seems to be a bright guy who wants to get it right.

Well at least that's what I hope.
Leave Jed alone

He might drop his silver spoon
