I really wonder about Nate at safety. His skill set screams safety, but take a closer look at how he plays corner and it's easy to see a serious problem with him at safety.
Nate already plays so much zone as a corner that at times, it just seems like he can't help himself and he makes huge gambles on the ball. Knowing what we know about him already, you have to wonder if he's even disciplined enough to play safety, where you know he'll constantly have his eyes in the backfield and will be often tempted. Good QB's love safeties like that. He truly will be the last line of defense and his mistakes will cost us 6.
Everybody's capable of better if they're willing to admit their own shortcomings, so I'm not going to condemn the guy for his past performances, but he'll have to be better if he wants to play either position for the 9ers next year...and that contract is waaaay outta whack lol! He's gonna have to rework that. I don't really have a stance on whether he plays one position or the other; just brain fodder.

SS is more of a possibility than FS because of how well he plays the run. plus i wouldn't want my last line of defense getting faked out so easily with pump fakes.
of course i would only do this after a contract restructuring.

I would get rid of Clements, Chilo, Haralson and Carr. Let Goldson and our QB's walk.

Goldson had a alright year last year and wanted to get paid top $, Clements plays the run great but that does not do us any good when he can't cover, Haralson can I get a sack please, Carr I wish we had Hill. I'm also done with Soap.

Parys and Manny Lawson!!!!!
You're an idiot. Manny is one of our better players on defense.
What ever!!!! Both Brooks and LaBoy are better then him. PLUS he want to get $$$ more then he is worth. Sorry Manny!!!! See you next year when the Seahawks sign you.
what are you smoking? Manny Lawson is one of the best OLB in the league. There are not many LB that can set the edge and cover a TE like he can.
There may not be any today. Julian Peterson in his prime could and was probably even better, but Manny is special in that way.

The dude has underachieved since he has been drafted. YES he is above average in his coverage skills, but only average in the rest of his game. He wants to get paid more then Calvin Pace. I am sorry but I don't want to pay a OLB in a 34 D that can't get to the QB consistently, that kind of money. IF he drops his price thats a different story. But typically OLB in a 34 both need to apply pressure on the QB!!! That is one of Manny's short comings. I think off the top of my head he had 6 sack all of last year. Not worth the $$$$!!!
Manny Lawson was never a passrusher. So expecting him to magically turn into this passrushing monster is ridiculous. Also Manny Lawson isn't that bad of a passrusher. He is just like the rest of the players on defense. They can get to the QB but just can't bring him down when they get there.
If you look at successful 34 teams both of their OLB can get to the QB!!! Why pay that kind of money to Manny when he hasn't shown that he can do that. He has never produced double digit sacks sine he was drafted. If I had to pay that kind of money he better have double digit sacks!!! I am just sayin!!!!
Don't you think he might have done that if they ever left him on the field and rushed him in passing situations?

I think it's safe to say Lawson is the "Alex" of the defense, people's opinions are so split on this guy.

TOP 6 right here
Pretty much. But I'd keep Haralson unless they have someone else to replace him (which wouldn't be too hard).
