I think these things have changed over the years, though. They have done things like install an expensive extra artificial turf field at the practice facility, IIRC, so that the players could prepare for those conditions. They've redone all the weight room equipment. They installed the new field at Candlestick... I think... I mean, they named it "Bill Walsh Field", it had to have been new, right?
Plus, they take people on helicopter rides. Those are expensive, right?
