So SOS means nothing? come on...

LOL at SOS, so that means Troy Smith gets a pass on Green Bay then right??

Sure if you think GB is better than NO, Atlanta or Philly.

Troy won all the games he supposed to win plus the Rams game. Alex......won... ... oh yeah, the Raiders.
The elephant in the room that some are missing is that the OC during all of Alex's early starts was so bad that he was fired. THEN, when Alex did get to start with the new OC his performance improved markedly, but was injured before that process could continue.

Alex haters do not understand logic. You're wasting your time.

to bad we can't combine Troy's leadership with Alex Smith's talent(potential, all he has to do is stop playing scared )

And what's the best way to get him to play with confidence? Let him play in a scheme he is comfortable with. He needs to play out of the gun, with plenty of options downfield. IMO, there is no reason NOT to do this. The team has the weapons and mismatch potential with VD and Walker. Crabtree and Morgan are solid possession guys and they have a RB that made his money by catching passes out of the backfield.

Knowing Sing though, we'll most likely see the same old run up the middle offense this Sunday

not to mention a punt in the 4th quarter when we're down

Maybe we'll see something new!
I'm hoping we get to see the Niners punt instead of trying a 40 yard FG. Or maybe we'll get to see the team run out the clock before halftime with about a min on the clock and a timeout left.

Oh wait, thats right. We've already seen these.......

the only thing left to see is Alex Smith just flat out b***h slap Singletary and take control of the team......but that won't ever happen, but it would be SOOOO AWESOME!!!

1/3 of the people get it without any effort.

1/3 of the people will never get it no matter how hard you try.

In the middle are 1/3 of the people that make a difference. They are willing to listen and come to a logical conclusion.

The curious thing to me is the people who rail against the obvious poor performance by Mike Singletary are often the same ones who do not recognize how the poor performance of the previous OC has had a detrimental effect on the offense, including the QB.

those are also the same people that recognize a poor oline and poor play calling for one QB and deny it for the other.

I watched the Pats blowout the Jets tonight and was amazed. I wasn't just amazed with Brady, who was putting on a clinic, but with the incredible precision of the movement of all the offensive players. It wasn't that NE was bigger or faster, but that they were like surgeons on an operating table. It wasn't just one play, it was all of it. It reminded me so much of how the Walsh/Montana teams went down the field. Even before Rice, they had that precision.

After the game, Steve Young made a major point about how Brady and Belichick are just obsessed with the importance of details and precision. Young was just passionate about it and it took me back to this discussion.

The single biggest issue with the current 49er offense is a near total lack of that precision and timing details. Routes are OK, but just OK. Timing is good, not great. Cuts are pretty good but don't really fool anybody. There is just no commitment to the kind of detail that is necessary to be successful. It isn't enough to just "smack someone in the mouth." Everybody is big enough to smack you back. To win you have to smack them in the mouth in a way that the opponent can't smack you back. Tonight, the Patriots put on a clinic in how that should be done. It wasn't just Brady. The receivers, the running backs, the TEs, the wideouts, the OL, everyone was on the same page AT THE SAME TIME. THAT is how you play winning football.

Yes, but we have Singletary who can't even get his defense to watch the damn football.
