He should be saying something like "While we're still mathematically in it, I'm extremely disappointed at the product that this organization has put on the field, and we should be embarrassed that we're pinning our hopes on a division where every team is playing mediocre football. The standards of this organization are higher than that."
You summarize the way I feel at the moment. Any hope I had from reading the Eddie DeBartolo article from last week has vanished -- followed by this pathetic and unrealistic goat bleat claiming that "we can still win the division."
No Jed, we can't. To win a division title a team must be -- first -- competitive -- and second -- it must win more games than it loses.
As evidenced by yesterday's blowout loss -- your team is "not competitive" and will not win more games than it loses. The season is over. Period. End of story. You will begin to see that fans refuse to buy into your Orwellian "Animal Farm" pronouncements that counter cold, hard reality. The refusal will be demonstrated plainly in the number of empty seats during the next home game.
I had high hopes for you Jed York. I really did. I drank the koolaid. But now -- I can see clearly. And it's become quite clear that you're a bigger idiot than your father -- and that's saying something -- since he brought idiocy up to an entirely new level.
