Now, I'm not confident in this at all, but the season is not totally lost yet. The state of the NFC West makes it POSSIBLE that we could sneak back into this thing (though highly unlikely. The games until our bye will be critical, in the sense that we have to win all three. But consider the next three weeks and records that could happen:
OAK @ SF (a win gets us to 1-5)
SD @ STL (come on SD! STL record 2-4)
SEA @ CHI (a SEA loss gets them to 2-3)
SF @ CAR (winnable even though a 1:00 on the East coast. Gets us to 2-5)
AZ @ SEA (gotta root for SEA at home. Would make both 3-3)
STL @ TB (a Bucs win puts STL at 2-5)
SF v. DEN (in London. A win gets us to 3-5)
TB @ AZ (Can't expect too much, but a TB win puts AZ at 3-4)
SEA @ OAK (Again, no gimme, but a loss puts SEA at 3-4)
CAR @ STL ( a loss puts them at 2-5, win makes STL 3-4)
After our bye in Week 9, we have 5 division games, and with a little momentum - who knows?. I'm just saying that its not over yet (though a loss in the next 3 weeks would pretty much seal it.
Hopefully the NFC West maintains it's ineptitude for a few more weeks!
