-Summary-
Pros: We were opening it up big-time (Alex was taking tons of shots down-field; regardless of hit or miss), and Johnson was pulling tons of creativity out of his sack of tricks (reverses, draws, screen-fakes which all resulted in mass-yardage/points on all scoring drives).-Oh and we converted a lot of first downs from 1st/2nd down situations, with zero turnovers.
BIG PRO: WE PLAYED AGGRESSIVE, AND SCORED WHILST STILL HOLDING A LEAD. -Something we hadn't done previously (all season)
Cons: We faced a team that's just as porous/mediocre/poorly-coached/disorganized as us (not to mention their run-D is one of the worst in the league).
Oh and Jason Campbell was the starter, that gave us a wider advantage going into this game today.
We didn't play aggressive after obtaining a small lead. The play calling turned to run run pass punt. The only difference was that Gore broke that long run where on all the other run plays he didn't.
We didn't get aggressive until mid 3rd quarter when we were down 6-3, then went back to 2 yards and a cloud of dust after going up 10-6, the TV announcers kept talking about our vanilla offense. Maybe the coaching staff thinks all the players are dumb, so they install a Jr High offense so everyone understands.
And that is just proof that Singletary still has his dirty little grubby paws in the offense. Jed needs to put his foot down on this and take Singletary's ability to manipulate the offense out of the equation.
