Just proves what all the realists are saying...the WRs aren't all covered. It's not their fault. The fault is that Smith won't LET IT RIP b/c he's too damn scared to throw the ball down the field and throw a pick. 4th lowest Y/A. You have to THROW your WRs open. Let the ball rip Smith! Rid yourself of the Capt. Checkdown label this week!

Completely alone. Have nothing to do with it. Go get a coke when they are on the field. Anything. Just leave the damn offense alone. This is not what you really wanting to be saying about your head coach. But nothing good can come from Singletary involved in this offense. It may not improve without him but it is certainly not going to improve with him.
I don't understand how he could play tight? He;s scared to make a mistake? For What

He's not going to get benched for his performance

and

He has the coaches full support based on this past mondays press conference.

Smith needs to be smart enough to realize that the conservative checkdown approach isn't going anywhere and is tanking him and the team. Johnson needs to spread the offense out and Smith needs to now play like he has nothing to lose because at this point he really doesn't.
Steve Young as HC someday for the 49ers?

I don't think it is a problem to say Singletary should stay out of the offense. Young himself says they told Seifert to stay out of the offense. Only thing Sing should have to say about offense is what they should be doing in 4 down situations maybe. Plays and such are for offensive minded guys only. But we don't even know how much Sing is even involved at this point. Might be less already.

Smith on the other hand has nothing to lose anymore. He might as well just go f**king balls to the wall. Don't understand why he isn't. This season is his last chance and he ought to be taking one on one deep balls all day. Play to win or get out of the way.

Sounds like Steve is putting it on MS for the check downs.

Seriously, does Smith not realize how many chances he's getting, and that this is seriously his last shot!? -At least when the 2006 Alex Smith (who knew he had permo job security throughout that entire season) threw interceptions, 70% of them were from down-field chucks to Antonio Bryant!

Does Smith even know how many weapons he has, does he even know that when he's throwing s**tty (bail-out) screens to Gore and Davis, that Morgan and Ziggy are ALWAYS open down-field with nobody covering them!?

That right there is what I have been saying all along. Get fired up, PLAY FOOTBALL, forget about the status your in for a moment and just go back to playing the way you did when you were a kid. Play like you know your the best, play like you can beat everyone's ass out there, talk some smack out there, get in your teammates face when they F-up.

Am I asking too much.
It sounds like S. Young believes it is a coaching issue. Alex has been under the thumb of a defensive-minded HC for all six of his years in the league. He has been taught to play it careful and safe. But Young is saying the successful QBs in the modern NFL have to take higher-risk, big-gain-potential throws. Dinking it down the field increases the chances of a screw up by someone along the way (it can be a major penalty, a blown sack, an INT, a fumble). Will Sing see the light?

all he did as a kid was give it to Reggie.
it is a coaching issue, singletary has no f**king business to poke his damn head in offensive meetings or offensive gameplans. his ass needs to focus on clock management and the only thing he can do motivate
