I was thinking about the uncanny luck of our team. Having 2 back to back HOFers is almost unthinkable but yet we were spoiled enough to have it, which is part of the reason I think the rest of the league hates us. Hell look at the Bears of the 80's. If they had Jeff Garcia's ass they would have built a shrine of him, and we were like "ehhh he's ok but will never win us a SB" or "He's no Joe or Steve" I think it's safe to say, we all pretty much wish we had kept him.
So it got me to thinking... Has any other NFL team had 2 better QB's on their roster simultaneously? Ok I have a hunch the answer will be no... and if that's the case... who is lightyears behind us in a far 2nd place?

I can't remember any others, but Young didn't really blossom until he was the man.

You gotta wonder if Smith and Carr should be mentioned, two first overall draft picks in a competition to see who sucks more. Oh, you said "best" not "bust". NVM.
But really, I voted yes. It's pretty obvious that they're the best, can't think any others.

Favre/Rodgers will be up there, depending on how well Rodgers does the rest of his career. Doubtful they'll measure up to Joe/Steve though.

Yes, but who is second place? My vote goes to Van Brocklin and Waterfield.

Not true.
Young was ready to go in '87.

Favre doesn't measure up to Joe Montana. Not even close. Can Rodgers measure up to Steve Young? Numbers-wise (minus the rating), maybe. Abiltiy-wise, no.
They might be the distant 2nd that OP asked about, but no way they challenge for the best.

A great QB can turn a pretty good receiver into an elite receiver, a decent receiver to a pretty good receiver and a below-average receiver to a decent receiver. Look what Peyton Manning does with these guys nobody has heard of until they get to Indianapolis and Peyton puts their names on the map. Garcon? Collie? Really?
I'm not saying Joe and Steve made Rice, but they definitely helped.

Nor am I saying Rice made either one of them...

Weren't Drew Bledsoe and Tom Brady on the same team at the same time? lol j/k
Yeah, having Young and Montana on the same team is pretty amazing. Didn't they also have Elvis Grback there too as a back-up? He was pretty good also. Lots of good QBs.

Other than those two I can't think of any other QB tandem that were on the same team during the prime years of their careers (24-32). I think Unitas and Fouts were both on the Chargers but Johnny U was washed up and Fouts was just getting started.

Favre, Brunell, Warner all on the Packers, wow what a GM they have.
That is 4 rings,
